Blogging Tories posts about "state of the union"

Dr Krauthammer remakes the point that bo's arrogance and socialism will continue to be his undoing. This being a democracy, don't the Democrats see that clinging to this agenda will march them over a cliff? Don't they understand Massachusetts?Well, they understand it through a prism of two cherished axioms: (1) The people are stupid and (2) Republicans are bad. Result? The dim, led by the mali

Bo's rambling state of the union address has done little to improve his ratings in the polls. After only one year in office, the hope and change candidate continues to be in free fall. It also looks like health care reform will not happen this year and cap and trade is dead. I look forward to the November mid terms. Congressman Murtha passed away yesterday. There will be a special election. I

... is another pig trough:Behind every seemingly good deed in the Obama White House, there’s a deep-pocketed, left-wing special interest. Take First Lady Michelle Obama’s crusade against childhood obesity. Who really benefits from the ostensible push for improved nutrition in the schools? Think purple – as in the purple-shirted army of the Service Employees International Union. Big Labor big

Despite the recent revelations that exposed the IPCC and their manipulated data, President Obama seems to be going ahead with carbon emission plan focusing on clean energy technology not cap and trade. In his recent State of the Union address, he didn't even mention one word of cap and trade. So is it dead? What does that mean for us? Minister Prentice and PM Harper has stated that we need

Despite the latest revelations of the climate change hoax, President Obama is still committed to saving the planet but in his State of the Union Address on Wednesday night there was no mention of cap and trade just nuclear and green jobs. WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama, trying to save a stalled bill to fight climate change, said on Wednesday clean energy investment could power j

Earlier this week, I heard President Obama’s voice loud and clear during his first state of the union address saying: ”we must double our exports!” Ah, but you see Mr. President, exporting and free trade goes in two directions.  And, as Canadians know only too well, you can’t talk out of both sides of your mouth. To do so [...]

Why do people think that she will fail in her bid for the Presidency, IF she ever decides to run, is a never- ending mystery to me.  She is what the doctor has prescribed for the ailing  USA. While I don’t wish to speak too harshly about President Obama’s state of the union address, we live in challenging times that call for candor. I call them as I see them, and I hope my frank a

In the wake of President Obama's state of the union address, the assertion that bothers me the most is that nationalizing health care is going to be an economic benefit and lead to deficit reduction; as though there exists a mystical aura of trickle down government health care. To suggest, as many left wing pundits have, that freeing business from the burden of providing health insurance and tran

Konrad Yakabuski drops this among many prize clangers in his defence of Obama’s petulant State of the Union speech: In theory, Mr. Obama did not need to sound as contrite as Bill Clinton did in his 1995 State of the Union speech… [...] [T]he new President’s electoral reversals to date – in two governors’ races and the special [...]

I watched the State of the Union address. My take, the glow is off the halo! He said "I" over 90 times, and "me" countless more times. He talks big, but his actions refute what he says. Of course the Democrats thought he hit it out of the ball park, whatever "it" was, and Republicans thought he did a bad job. The best take I have seen on the speech is by Syncrodox Sez I hope he doesn't have

I'll be blogging live as President Obama gives his first official state of the union speech tonight in Washington, DC.Reports are that he'll push overturning "don't ask, don't tell", that he'll focus on jobs and the economy, and address other pressing issues such as national security and health care as well.Check back for updates...I wonder how many times he'll mention himself tonight afte

President Obama will be delivering his State of the Union address this evening, where he will clearly attempt to stop the bleeding of support that has been flooding away from his party in a mass exodus. I expect there will be teleprompters. Look, the guy gave a speech recently at an elementary school and brought his teleprompters. Yes, talking to little kids, he required teleprompters. I remember

dems thought that obamacare would be passed by the state of the union address. Fail. It ,like cap and tax. is supposed to be passed sometime in the future. The dems just don't know when. It certainly won't be before the November mid terms and after the November midterms it should be impossible to pass.‘No Rush’ on Health Care Overhaul, Democrats SayBy DAVID M. Obama may be finally cluing in, though I think it more likely that this is nothing more than a ploy to get votes. He is proposing a freeze on a good chunk of government spending, but not enough to fix the budget, and only for three years.President Obama will propose Congress freeze "non-security" federal spending for the next three years, senior administration officials said Monday. The term "no

So bent are progressives on imposing their fantasies on the rest of the world, that they sow the seeds of their own destruction.Noonan:Passage of the health-care bill will be, for the administration, a catastrophic victory. If it is voted through in time for the State of the Union Address, as President Obama hopes, half the chamber will rise to their feet and cheer. They will be cheering their own
