I was pretty surprised when I saw this. Has there been some sort of friction between Rossi and the Federal Liberal? I'm not sure how I feel about it, his brand of conservatism (if you can call it that) probably fits well in that riding though. |

| if he wants to go after the nomination, whatever, but the party brass seems they are all but appointing him. Ask Tim peterson how that worked out for him. |

i must say this is one of the most unusual candidate announements i've seen at provincial level in a while . and well rumoured i didn't think it was actually going to happen
still a little confused at Rocco Rossi's motivations and why exactly he choose the ontario pc party over the liberals . be interesting to see how this all plays out and if he ever ends up running in october election or not .
provincial politics is at least geting more interesting |

Not pleased by this move on the part of the PCs. It scares me to think what they must have offered Rocco to go Blue.
Rossi may advocate some conservative policy ideas but that doesn't make Rocco a conservative person. Personally, I may agree with some liberal ideas at times, but that doesn't make be a liberal person. If we have to dress Rocco in PC colours, knowing that he isn't fully behind the party in principle, I have to wonder... Do we really need to sell out for a seat in Toronto? |

| I think the PCs need whomever they can get. Deposing Dalton won't be easy. I'm not worried about Toronto centrists like Rossi shifting the party to the centre. If the PCs get a majority, strong party discipline will ensure that these centrist MPPs will vote the party line on important issues. |

The PC's are doing what the Democrats in the States did in 2006 & 2008.
Taking anyone who could get elected in any Senate or Congressional seat to run as a Democrat regardless of if their ideologies were in line with the party of not.
I don't want a victory in 2011 if it means that we need to kiss the ring of the 416 to get legislation passed.
The Provincial Liberals are cutting corporate taxes, while the PC's are running a former national adviser to the Liberal Party of Canada, and campaign associate of John Tory in 416 ridings?
My options are in 2011 seem to be:
Incompetent Liberals
More Incompetent Liberals
Or Dalton McGuinty.
Election Day is going to be a blast... |
