If you blog on Blogging Tories, you may notice on the main page (http://www.bloggingtories.ca) that all of your posts may not show up anymore.

Though most of our bloggers are great, over the past 5 years, we've dealt with those that would 'game' the system. Timestamp manipulation was one of them -- before we stored posts in a database and drew data from there, an aggregation of rss feeds would put a blogger than manipulated their timestamp 48 hours in the future would sit on top of the blogroll for two days.

The latest problem I've addressed is hyper posters -- bloggers that publish over 10 posts a day (mostly on inane topics). This is a form of spam and it has now been addressed. If you post over a certain threshold over a certain period of time, only one of your posts will appear on the main page.

I hope that this will give our readers a broader view of what the conservative movement is discussing rather than an over-saturation of one person's view.

Please let me know what you think. This change was long overdue.

I'll be doing some other work on the site this weekend, so if it's acting funny, that's just me in the machine.

I'm noticing that some of my posts are showing up sporadically (hours later) or not at all (the latest one will show up but the previous 1 or 2 did not). Has the new aggregate tweak start causing problems discerning numbers of posts and frequency?
Thanks
Dean
