Apparently, the CPC has taken in more money in the last few days than in any fundraising effort in the party's history. And some of it is coming from a suprising source:
| Christian Conservative wrote: | Well, it looks like the Liberals have finally figured out how to motivate their Party members to open up their wallets. This coalition idea has sparked a flurry of donations by Liberals in the last few days...
...I've heard it from two well placed sources now. Card carrying Liberal Party members, incensed at what their Party leadership have pulled, are calling Conservative Party HQ and donating... BIG TIME. |
Clearly, Harper should resign over this travesty. |

| well with our current system; small, private donors, who support the cause are the only people who can really contribute. since a very small amount of people actually support the liberals much, and therefore have very little money :P |

Fortunately, the proletariat judges a prime minister based on accomplishments, not how much money they raise for their party. |

| the liberals may just be getting low amounts and the torys are just getting ok amounts insted of getting large amounts. Ever since the sponcership scandel donations to the liberal's have fallen alot i belive. Thus mabey lowering the bar too much for us. |

| I didn't save the link, but someone who requested anonymity, told the Ottawa Citizen, that the Conservative party on one day alone raised $600,000. This crisis is helping build up the Tory war chest for the next election. |

I agree, looks like a majority for Harper is in the works. |

| This blade is doubble sided though, is it not. For example all through the last U.S. election most of the time the party with more money spent was critisized. But I agree that more money has to overall help. The torys should use some to brand Iggy as something before the liberals can, just like what happened with Dion. |

Unlike in America, in Canadian elections, there is a limit on what parties can spend. I believe the number parties can not go over is $19 million in Canadian Federal elections. |

| this logic won't stop the media from frameing the next concervative win as the big old concervatives crushing the oppisition thanks to their rich members. Or at least thats how things will go down on the cbc. |

No - you look like the same alcoholic englishman I remember as a kid.
Anyone know if the Conservative fund is legit. I received a letter from them asking for emergency contributions.
I was going to donate to the Human Fund but learned it doesn't exist either.
