I predict Ottawa in 5. They are playing together, they are not giving up, and they are looking good. New Jersey does not have the scoring to overcome Ottawa.

You have to like Ottawa's chances... but I say it'll take 7 to get it done.

I say 6, NJ doesn't look as tough now that Brodeur isn't playing as well as he used to.

Brodeur is much better in games with low shot totals. If the Sens can light him up with 40 or more shots a night, they will have no problem. All they have to do is make him work too hard, after already playing 79 games in the regular season. If they stick to their sound all around game, NJ will have huge trouble playing from behind.

OK, I just want to say straight off. All this "controversy" the sports casters are talking about, I say it is total BS. I know exactly what happened, all the goalies, all the players, are doing it these days. Brodeur sensed that a player was within a few inches and went for the triple lutz. The refs did not go for it, and he let in a weak goal. The world is as it should be.
They need to call diving penalties. If I wanted to watch diving competitions, I would go down to the local pool, or watch soccer, not tune in the NHL. There was another call tonight, a guy goes for the stick lift, and is so successful that he lifts the other guy's stick into his own face, and draws the penalty call. The refs are way too involved these days. |

It is imperative that Ottawa finishes this in five and gets some rest for the next series. Vancouver never had a chance after that tough first round series against the stars; it was their own fault too, they had three chances to finish the series and only took the last one.

Well, they did it in 5. Even more importantly, they now get some rest, while their opponents must continue to duke it out. Hopefully, there are 2 more games in the Buffalo Rangers series, and they play lots of overtime, more than Vancouver did. It is too bad for Buffalo, they are a team that deserves to win a cup from a great hockey town. But I am rooting for Ottawa, so screw em!
