Now this is yet another example of the hypocrites in the Conservative party today. There is no fiscal management what so ever! I have problems with shit like this, pigs at the trough and the entitlement mentality they complained about in opposition.... WOW!!!!!

Its hard for me to get to outraged over 4000 bucks over a week in Europe.
Especially considering I have no idea the details surrounding it other then that it happened. |

Man, you are really looking through those rose colored glasses arn't you. It's not just this trip but the Conservative record and the fact that they are NOT even close to who they said they were while in opposition or on the election trail. They continue to run up the debt in Canada right now while increasing the size of government and spending. This combined with pushing through expensive bills that make absolutely no fiscal sense that will bankrupt the provinces.
They have no sense of fiscal responsibility...... |

Because its a molehill issue;
The article (neither of them) give me any sense of context, its an outrage piece yet it hardly gives me any information for me to actually get outraged over.
Was he holding meetings?
How large was the security contingent?
Where was the conference being held?
Where were the delegates of the conference staying?
I have no idea if a Minister travels with a security contingent or not, or if he was hosting meetings in the suite or not?
Based on the very limited research it appears from the Bayerischer Hof's website McKay secured himself a Junior Suite, the Suites run upward of 3700 Euros a night.
If he was simply sleeping in there, sure its opulent.
If he has a security detail and is hosting meetings, then its hard for me to get any reaction as from personal experience in Munich its cost upwards of 800 bucks to secure a boardroom for meeting use for 12 hours.
If you want to stomp up and down over the debt; I will be right there with you.
However an issue like this could be extremely reasonable or foolishly opulent, however based on two different articles all I have is a total price which looks outrageous considering a night at Motel 6 is 59 bucks, but zero context. |

| I just saw a piece on CTV news about this. They showed the luxury hotel rooms he stayed in, and mentioned that in one instance his staff were in a different hotel all together and their rooms only cost like $230, and in another case his staff were in the same hotel but their rooms were again only in the $200 range. |

Let's not forget to mention:
- increasing spending like drunken sailors
- let's add more seats to the house for our own political gains..... more wasted money.....
- F35's ouch, what's the real cost and will they work in Canada
- prisons, we must follow the Americans down this road that has failed miserably but let's do it anyway to increase costs for the provinces
Just a tip of the iceberg....... Horrible money management, but at least they got rid of the long-gun registry and got out of Kyoto... Good job there..... |

Skimming the facts and not having them all present is somewhat misleading.
The G&M must be telling the absolute truth about this one.
Who do they think they are, the CBC? |

Yikes! Get on McKay for dropping 4k, go on about how the Liberal/NDP budgets would have involved less spending, and lambaste the increase in government they are all items that certainly merit questions but the other three points...

So you are arguing that Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario should receive less representation then the rest of Canada?
Spending 6m in salaries, and perhaps upwards of another 4 - 6m in supporting these MP's so that we get proper representation is money well spent, funding it by axing the per vote subsidies which cost us 27m makes it a value.

We have received US$6.8 billion dollars in private contracts for solely the orders already placed for this aircraft because of our commitment to the JSF, we stand to be upwards of US$10 billion by 2015, and nearly double that if the Americans and Brits A-10 and the Harriers with the B variants.
Getting functional aircraft at this point is gravy.
Should we have perhaps purchased the mostly American sourced Super Hornet which Boeing has stated will most likely cease production on within five years?

Which part are you opposed to?
Rapist and Child Molesters serving their full sentences? or someone on their fourth charge of illegal gun possession actually having to serve jail time rather then a three month suspended sentence? |

| It's really disappointing to hear that while there are people who are dying to get payday loans to pay their bills, there are these people who are overspending for their leisure and nonsense things. Can't they just give half of their money to charitable institutions? |
