I'm watching via internet from another coast altogether. Anyone out that way got comments on the campaign?

| National Newswatch is suggesting that he will either run in the next federal election or will be appointed ambassador to France. |

Lord was courted by the Fed-Cons before. Time will tell, I guess.

He can do more for the Canadian conservative cause as a federal MP and cabinet minister. Harper knows that.
I hope he runs federally. |

| NB's loss will be Canada's gain. Lord would make a tremendous cabinet minister & would set himself up as the likely successor to Harper. |

| Well Lord is saying that he doesn't want to do Federal politics. Partially because I feel Lord is not a fan of Harper's. |

Lord was the first premier to endorse Harper for the leadership and would easily be a high profile leadership contender in his own right.
Any decision to not enter federal politics will likely be a result of him wanting to spend more time with his family. |

Perhaps Lord is showing (as usual) wisdom beyond his years. His family is young now and that only happens once. Harper is leading a new coalition which is still having adjustment/growing pains and the last thing Harper needs is to have a Harper/Lord dynamic like the Chretien/Martin dynamic. When the time comes to replace Harper, Lord will still be a contender and, in the meantime, his family gets to have his attention.

| Oh, easily. I just don't think there's any real animosity between the two that would cause any real tension. I get the feeling Lord would probably be happy to serve as a cabinet minister and wouldn't want to force a sitting leader out of power. |
