Physics is not political. It is not an ideology.
If I say your great grandchildren are going to be parbroiled because of climate change, that is just opinion. We don't have sufficient evidence to measure that. That would be ideology or politics.
If physists say the earth will continue to retain more heat due to an increase of CO2 and methane in the atmosphere, that is based on observable evidence. That is physics.

First, physics is only part of the problem of figuring out climate change and there is no real consensus when the top climate specialists -- they come from different scientific backgrounds -- get together. There are other explanations for the variations in the earth's climate. This is a secret that the media keeps from us.

Second, it is the partisans of global warming that use these fearful images to stampede people. Not the sceptics.

These are the facts -- the real greenhouse gas is water vapour. Clouds. Not CO2. That doesn't mean I am in favour of air pollution, only that we have more time than we think, and the problems may be more local than we think. You know and I know, whatever government is in power, the tax revenue will only partially be spent on environmental improvements, and the effect on world CO2 will be zilch. My view.

In the unlikely chance you are right (against all scientific evidence) what have we got to lose. Worse case scenario, the climate cools 0.25 degrees and we get back to the snow pack of the 1950's. At the same time, we take advantage of the threat of global warming to convice the world to transition to nuclear power. We sell reactors to China, India and the rest of the world at cost, and then mke the money on selling the fuel. It means jobs by the thousands, and we get to preserve our petroleum and coal reserves for future generations. Remember, you can't make machinery run without lubricant, you can't make steel without coal and you can't make any of the tens of thousands of products made from oil and coal. Energy without worry. When we run low on uranium, build and sell thorium reactors.

Before it was global warming, it was overpopulation, and before overpopulation it was the earth getting colder ... all in my lifetime. All of them (so far) unsupported by evidence.

If the world went nuclear, there could be more nuclear powers with bombs. That's part of the concern. But I agree with you about atomic energy.

How many wars were fought between India and Pakistan before India detonated its PNE (peaceful nuclear explosion)? How many times has Israel been attacked by Egypt, Syria or Jordan since the rumour of Israel having nuclear weapons came out? Stalin was the crazist national leader in history. Hitler, Cligula, Kim, and Mao were more stable than Uncle Joe Stalin. Stalin had nuclear weapons and the US had nuclear weapons. Stalin was not that crazy that he would use them. Pocession of nuclear weapons has an oddly peaceful effect.

Over population is one of the chief causes of global warming. Too many people generating too much methane and CO2. I do not recall any serious concern about the earth getting colder since 1815. Overpopulation and global warming have both been supported by growing evidence since 1970. So far, there has been no credible evidence that carbon emmisions have been dropping.

When will the scientists start calling for a "cull" of the human population.

We just need to limit reproduction. It has to be done gradually.

OK, take this out of the clouds ... who are "we"?

What happens (usually) is that those who impose the cull do not impose it upon themselves.

In our case, we would be "culled" by order of our civil service. You DO know, do you not, that our civil service hires on the basis of race and gender. with an aim of putting white males born in Canada in their proper place? -- unemployed and maginalized.

So the decisions will be made by a bunch of foreigners and women.

Sounds like the script for future horror movie.
