My biggest concern regarding this is the CRTC move to change what is considered news. Allowing the publication of falshoods as news will not help credibility of any of the real news sources, but would certainly grease the wheels of Fox North.

Does it bother you that the CBC is nothing more than a propagation machine for the left? Or are you one of those people who tolerate something when it suits your ideological beliefs?

CBC is as much a Liberal cheer leader as CTV is a Tory Cheersquad.
But neither of these news medias have gone so far as to report absolute lies as news.
Under the new rules it would be possible to do so.
The biggest issue is who is pushing for this change? No respected journallist has said they support it. No news group has stepped forward and said it's a good idea. So why the change?

Please immediately forward your sighting of a respected journalist to the International Union for Conservation of Nature. Numerous protected sanctuaries would gladly accommodate such a rarity. Thank you for your cooperation, citizen.

Wait, are you saying Patrick Duffy is not a respected journalist? They gave him a Senate seat for god's sake.

I never thought of this at the time when Sun Media was accepting suggestions for TV personalities, but two people who would be great would be Steve Paikin and Michael Coren.

I think both could current event programs as they do now, or Steve could host a Sun News evening newscast to compete against CBC and CTV. I would let Michael Coren continue to do his show as he does it now.

Those two would be really nice compliments to Charles Adler and Ezra Levant.

In case you haven't been following it, the studio is almost complete.

I find it hard to believe that they won't have this thing launched prior to an election. Elections are ratings machines and they will really miss the boat if they aren't on the air for it.

Thanks for the link Craig. I am surprised the set looks as good as it does. Looks like SunTV is going all in. Still, I think there will be alot of hiccups at the start.

Still Shocked SunNews landed Adler. I guess if you let a man rock his beard....

For sure SunNews should be timing there launch with the federal election(even tho I do not believe there will be a election) if it happens. Either way there is 5 provincial election this year, good time to go..

Brian Lilley has been updating SunNews status for awhile now...

Someone should point this out to Kennedy Jr. who wrote a completely false and misleading news article in the Huffington Post, to which I posted a link earlier. It needs rebutting and tweeting etc. etc. :)

Kennedy Jr makes Charlie Sheen seem normal. What a Batsh!t crazy article. Honestly, that might be the most crazy, uninformed article I have ever read. Wow!!!

Meh.

Bat sh.t crazy just about nails it, but the Americans are lapping it up believing it. Some people have comments rebutting it, I tried a couple but they wouldn't publish them, I was nice too, but guess they don't like 'riddled with errors and every paragraph a lie' LOL

this and the N.P. article seem to be the only places picking up on it, not that I'd expect the Star to do so, but I'm disappointed at the lack of response by our media.

Someone who can synopsize better than I can should write an article on it, it's this type of thing that conservatives should get involved in.

April 18 is the official launch date, according to Canadian Press. I can't wait.
