The Conservative Party of Canada has assured one of its largest support groups that it will abolish the long gun registry and eventually reform Canadas firearms laws to reflect on the criminal use of firearms taking pressure off hunters and target shooters, basically saying " we hear you and agree".

A Canadian firearms importer contacted the RCMP ( CFC) on the FRT status of the Norinco T-97, they were informed that the long barrel model was non restricted and the short one was restricted, the company ordered 10,000 and target shooters, collectors and varmint hunters were buying them at around $1000 taxes and shipping inc.

Now, out of the blue, the RCMP stepped in and seized all the companies stock and have sent letters to all the registered owners that by ORDER IN COUNCIL the firearms have been declared PROHIBITED and the importer has had his stock siezed WITHOUT COMPENSATION therby virtually bankrupting the company and all registered owners have 30 days to surrender them WITHOUT COMPENSATION.

This is legal theft and proves that registration leads to confiscation, something the goverment assured us would NEVER happen. The main point is that the order in council had to be signed by the minister of justice who is A MEMBER OF THE SERVING PARTY.

It is quite apparent that big city votes from urban dwellars who know nothing of firearms except the paranoid ramblings of the well financed anti gun groups means a lot more than the rights of rural farmers, hunters and target shooters.

One could rightfully expect this from the Liberals or NDP but this is on the backs of the Conservative party who have just got my last financial offering until things change, and I am not alone in this outrage.
