I saw it on every news channel and newspaper website. But, to answer your question, they haven't picked up on it because they are all sleeper agents of al-Qaeda, which has joint headquarters in the New York UN Building and Tehran. Normally they are quicker to repeat the official line to avoid suspicion, but this time they were too high on opium (that they get their agents in Afghanistan to farm) to move. Unfortunately, heroes like you are destroying this facade and there will soon be a massive arrest of all these people under the PATRIOT Act. That is, unless Jannuh al-Qari (John Kerry) repeals them first!

Thanks for that, Donald. I guess it wasn't important enough for the local newsrag... and I'm on vacation so I haven't been watching the TV news.

Just in case you didn't know there are an infinite supply of number 2 al queida's. Story means absolutely nothing.

But it's a good way to start the paranoia process for a new issue derailment act (terror). There are elections coming and public support is waneing...time for issue derailment and anti terror support????

You can smell it coming

sure, sure...

I would agree that this capture in itself doesn't do a lot.. Someone will come along and replace him. However, things like this happening does raise morale of the troops on the ground, and it could end up supplying some critical information.

It is far from useless, and anyone who would claim such is blinded by their partisan views. Is it a huge victory? No. But it is a victory, and it does help things on the ground.

It is a very big deal capturing a high ranking officer. For one thing, he knows all about their operations; the uncaptured ones will have to get different safe houses, and reorganize. Second, there was probably all kinds of documents and plans captured with him. Some operations will be cancelled, because it will be assumed that they are now compromised. If the remaining member don't run and hide quickly, there will be more captures, and more information gained.

Saying that there are an infinite supply of number 2's, and that this means nothing is like saying you could capture the vice president of the US, and it would mean nothing.[/i]

Wow... talk about thread resurrection! I thought this thread died 6 weeks ago. It wasn't much of a thread then and age hasn't much improved it.

An infinite number of #2s? Sure, let's go with that!

While I don't think the #2 of the regional arm of an outlaw terrorist group rates quite as highly as a vice president or deputy PM, #2 certain rates capture and interrogation. Plus, if there's any proof whatsoever of criminal activity, #2 should be prosecuted.
