The number of views for the first 5 most recent topics is irrelevant if one site (FD) shows dozens of threads to choose from on one page, while the other (BT) gives you only a few. The TOTAL number of views of all topics during one given day would tell the real picture. I don't like FD's bunch of wackos (including and starting with their admins) but we have to be honest with the numbers here.

Slagging FD likely only drivers viewers their way. Presumably there is enough marlet share for both FD and BT.

I think that there are more visitors here as can even be attested to by my Freedom of Information thread in Canadian Politics forum - it has 22691 views - the most views on a thread on this entire website [I have yet to see comparable views on a thread at any political message board!] - there are more people clicking around this site than might appear!

Also, when one puts out a rebuttal to a position that one opposes that consists of nothing more than a Genetic Fallacy, then the only thing that that person accomplishes is a loss of credibility.

Any forum's posting rules become meaningless when the admin/owners do not hold themselves to the same standard asked of other people. That's one way to quickly kill a forum, as well as to destroy working relationships with people in real life generally.

Another way is to accuse anyone who disagrees with a certain opinion as being a "paid operative" of some other entity--af if it's automatically illegitimate to represent an opinion that happens to be in disagreement with other people. When a person starts doing this routinely, its clear that they simply can't handle discussion of opposing points of view in a respectful manner. Automatically assuming vile motives of someone who dares to disagree with you is a great way to run a forum into the ground, and a great way to alienate yourself from everyone in real life generally.

This is what turned me off of youube discussions when it came to politics or policy."if you dont agree with us then poo on you!"Often its much worse than just poo if you get my drift.I used get sucked in,but my wife would calm me down and make me see rational logic.Mind you i do the same with her at times also hehe!

Pointing out that our viewership has surpassed theirs isn't exactly "slagging".

Take a look at the views for any post (not just the top five). More often than not our numbers are higher.

Here is the bottom five from their busiest forum...

456
379
860
2417
394

And the bottom five from our busiest forum...

I stand corrected; thanks for the enlightenment. It's great news then. :D
