Keep in mind the Peace Prize is awarded and selected in Norway whereas the other subject specific awards are awarded and selected in Sweden. The subject specific awards are highly prestigious recognition for achievement. The Peace Prize is the politically controversial one.
If memory serves, didn't someone post a thread about Norway being #1 in the UN Human Development Index for 2009? Wasn't there something about Norway paying a huge quantity of their income back in taxation?
Now... ask yourself why the Norwegians would want to award Obama again? :D

| I really don't care about the Nobel Peace Prize. It means nothing. |

Definitely a farce, look at the cold hard facts. Nominations closed in February; clearly, at that point, 12 days or so into his administration, he had done absolutely nothing. I do not even think he had his first czar picked yet. The only plausible conclusion you can come to is this is just another anti-Bush club of the left.
Obama won the prize simply for not being Bush, not for anything he has ever accomplished. |

Not to mention the fact Jimmy Carter was awarded the prize for opposing the Bush administration and that was about it. These rewards are politically motivated, that much is obvious to anyone with a modicum of critical thinking.
It's interesting that Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, and Vaclev Havel never got nominated, I wonder why that's the case? Probably because they actually did something by destroying the foundations of communism and ending the totalitarian governance of the Warsaw Pact nations. |

Why President Obama Was Awarded the Nobel Prize
http://patriotpost.us/opinion/.....bel-prize/
I am truly concerned that America has allowed such a manipulative egotist in power who wishes to change the constitution -- and he is the Commander-In-Chief.
The Norwegians did not do much to help in WWII but sided with the Nazis by ending up like the Swiss. But the Nobel committee gets their big opportunity once a year with the phony peace prize to show the world they are not of centre but of the socialist left. Worse. Cowards.
How about someone of the right or centre-right start a NOBLE PRIZE. |

When were the Swiss allied with the Nazis?
From what I understand Norway had a collaborationist government after they fell to the Nazis in the same way France had the Vichy regime put in place. |

Purely by the fact they did nothing and allowed the Nazis to bank. There's more but that's a start...
