Iím actually glad she lost! Her personality stinks, and I think she actually would have done more harm to the Ontario PCs than good in my opinion.

I had the opportunity to meet her the other day, and she is one the rudest people that I have met since getting involved in politics a few years ago, and Iíve met a good many people! And really, all this Sue-Ann praise about how great she is and how good for the party sheíd have been? - Thatís a bunch of bull crap! I donít care how fiscally conservative people say she is either! She has a personality that only a person like Michael Ignatieff would appreciate! And since heís such an arrogant, egotistical and self-righteous prick, what does that say about Sue-Ann Levy?

As a PC member, it pains me greatly to say this but I must! Ė Congratulations to Dr. Eric Hoskins, new MPP for St. Paulís! Itís better to have a Liberal whom we know is full of shit than to have a Progressive Conservative who only pretends not to be when she actually is!

How was she rude? Was she condescending? You didn't provide a lot of basis for your impression of her.

I didn't think she had much chance at winning... St. Paul's is too much of a Liberal stronghold and Eric Hoskins has a strong resume.

she seemed to be an ok candidate but she had little chance of winning in st pauls to begin with as the riding is downtown toronto and strongly liberal . i 've read her colums in the sun before and she seems ok and knowledgable about her topics .

think after this hopeless toronto by-election experience the ontario pc party needs to focus on some of the seats it can actually win and there not within the 416 area . the party needs to find some good candidates who can win the seats in ontario the party can actually win .
but the party did prove a point in st paul's if nothing else , that being it can run a strong campaign and find a strong candidate even in ridings it does not hold .

Doesnt suprise me actually. The face is starting come off about how "liberal" ,liberals really are.I like her.She sticks it to liberals, conservatives and anyone else who thinks the public till is their personal piggy bank. The 416 area must like paying high taxes.I guess the PC party will just have to figure out a way to win without Toronto.Mark my words the crime will get worse, taxes will continue to climb and public services will get cut as a result of fat cat unions. Then again their city ,its their problem.

Mr. Sue Ann Levy was not the appropriate candidate, furthermore, Hudak showed his naivete or his half-heartedness.

I say let the cities remain as they are, if that's what the leftists, socialists, newcomers want. The wiser people are moving out of Toronto, for example, and generally live a better life, until the special interest groups expand and catch up.

Of course, conservatives shouldn't give up but why give in?

I don't think she was a weak candidate at all. She was a capable candiate who would have won if ran in another riding.

Hudak had a problem the ST. Paul riding had a star candidate in Liberal Dr. Hosskins and the PC's needed someone who had name recognition and profile who lived in the riding and they needed that person quickly.

Sue Ann Levy fits that bill. I don't know of anyone else they could have chosen in such a short time frame who lived in that riding of St. Pauls. And had a high enough profile to at least make a showing against the Dr.

If the PC's had run a no name the margin would have been much greater then what it was.

On the point quoted above we have moved out of Toronto some time ago to the north Halton area where we're represented by Michael Chong.

It is like night and day when compared to living in Toronto. It's quiet, clean and the neighbors are friendly and courteous. Not much crime to speak of and we're not bombarded by hookers on the street corners, drug addicts and dealers all over the place not to mention pan handlers.

I have to come to TO for business at least once a week but for the most part I work from my home office and I have to say that I do not miss Toronto one bit. I guess it's not for everybody but if you like peace and quiet without looking at the dregs of society everyday give it a try.
