Looks like the first ballot is in:
Hudak: 3511
Klees: 3093
Elliott: 2728
Hillier: 1013
No one with the required amount to win, and even if all 1013 Hillier votes went to Hudak it would still not be enough, so we are in store for two more ballots.
I will try and keep everyone posted |

| Elliott in third means she can't win. Hilliers votes won't go to her. That is good news. |

Hard to say which way this thing will go. I'm disappointed for Hillier but it'll be difficult for anyone to say he was dismissed as a kook since he did take a credible number of votes.
How does it work here in Ont? Does the candidate with the lowest number get bumped and then folks vote again or ??

| Does anyone know if there will be a breakdown of the votes by riding? I'm curious as to whether any of the candidates absolutely dominated any of the ridings they won. |

The ballot had all four names on it.
Rather then an "X" we put a 1,2,3,4 beside the names.
If you had Hillier as your "1", now that he is dropped your vote transfers to your "2".
This tends to reflect democracy much more then the seedy backroom deals of a Liberal Convention. |

Seems that "Randy" suspenders are all the rage,
Next ballot is at 2PM EST. |

So it's a form of PR similar to that proposed in BC... a single transferable vote... Interesting... I don't know whether I would call it more democratic but it's certainly quicker than run-offs and perhaps less damaging?

I'm not big on PR, but I had always thought that STV was the simplest solution to solving the "problem" of a candidate winning with less than 50%. Unbelievably, the group in Ontario that looked at PR for the last election thought this was too complicated! |

| I have to say that I'm surprised at how well Frank Klees is doing. |

I just like the idea that whoever I voted for can't sell my vote after he or she has it. Lets me have influence over my own vote once my candidate is dropped |

His crew seems to think that he will secure Hillier supporters 2:1 over Hudak.
They are confident, but I doubt it. |

| Depends, if Klees were to get enough support from Elliot supporters and a little bit from Hillier it would put him over the top. |

The fear is how the Eliott supporters will shake down. |
