Frank, I thought the leadership might get pushed to September. I could be wrong though.

What's your source?

read some articles where some want it delayed till september , not sure if that will actually happen , think there is concern that with the legislature still sitting they won't have much time to campaign and one candidate could just get " cornonated " without a real race .

and i read another article that says peter van loan is not in it and looked in to the idea but found little support , so i doubt very much he will be in the race . but there seems to be alot of mis-informarion going around , was also a julian fantino possibilty but he then denied it .

I think Julian Fantino wants to run against Greg Sobara in Vaughan. That's one of the reason's McGuinty made Fantino OPP commissioner so he couldn't get involved in politics. Of course, that might back fire since it'll elevate his standing in Ontario.

Christine Elliott
Randy Hillier
Tim Hudak

No Feds, no unelected members. And no Fantino (I got this from the top). Ezbeatz Is right, he cannot hold his current office and run. He canít even have a membership in any party, technically. Heís not running. And the party wants someone in caucus to save another byelection.

don't think any federal mp's will actually enter the race as all hold high profile positions and be needed in ottawa , the rumor of diane finlay possibly enter the race was a bit of a joke and don't think she'd find much support if she really did .

the fantino idea was also odd , agree that fact he is so high up in the opp be a problem as there not suppose to get involved with politics , is one opp who lives near me and i believe he is not even allowed to put up an election sign .

Ya, but Fantino would make an excellent candidate in 2011.

1) Fantino would never EVER win the party due to how he acted with respect to Caledonia, including his suspect letters to local politicians. There are also many controversies regarding his tenure as a commissioner and a chief.

If he wins myself and many others will be tearing up our membership cards.

I may even join the Greens or the Ontario Reform Party.

2) Masood Khan, the editor of the oldest Urdu language newspaper in Ontario, has declared he is running.

Ontario PC Membership

I think it is time to take an interest in Ontario Politics again. ... or was that practice banned by Uncle Dalton?
