They compare him to the "evil" Mike Harris.

I hope Tim Hudak runs for the leadership. He is still young, even young enough to make it to the leasership of the federal party in the future.

I want someone elected who will change the name of the party to CPO. A true right winger that can work with the Fed party.

I dislike the word “Progressive” as well – but I think we’re stuck with it. We need to keep the reds happy.

I don't think Whitmer would be a good pick for two reasons:

1) she's pretty red

2) she was the finance minister in the last term of the Eves government...the one that posted a $5 billion deficit. Having her as leader would make it hard to attack McGuinty on financial/economic management

i seriously think we should drop it , and just go with " conservative party if ontario " or ontario pc party . but i don't see the point of calling it the progressive conservative party anymore .

I think we need a wide open race so that all the contenders are well-tested.

Hudak is the clear front-runner and clearly a good candidate from what we've seen, but he's never REALLY been tested. Eves snuck through without being tested because we thought he'd be great, and that blew up in our faces. We need a leadership that lasts all summer that allows us to really test all the candidates.

I, for one, like to think about who the Liberals are most afraid of - and I've noticed that Kinsella and the Star both had trouble finding an attack on Peter Shurman. He's got many positives, he's a great speaker, pretty young, and isn't pigeonholed as a "red" or a "blue", but just as a conservative. That's what we need for the party in my view, but let's wait and see what the summer contest shows us.

I heard John Tory might head up TorStar. And we had him as leader of the OPC.

Peter Shurman's the way to go. All of the others are the same old boring BS. Nothing against them personally, I like them all, but Shurman's the only one who is fresh, different, and SOUNDS different. He can cut through the baloney that usually gets in the way. The York strike was just one example. Plus he certainly knows how the media works, and how to be heard, having come from there. If he runs, I'm with him.
