Define fruit.
Remember the reporter asked Harper the question on what type of a fruit he would be during the last election campaign? |

CTV cancels shows that half less than a million viewers. 500,000 is considered bad, 250,000 is really bad and 90,000 is embarrassing. |

| Think about this for a second... George S. gets first class (famous) people on his show. Now those people alone would get about half a million viewers, so people must be not tuneing in just because of George. |

UofT student body ~50,000
York student body ~50,000
Ryerson student body ~20,000
That's 120,000. Obviously 30,000 are too stoned, hung over, or lazy to watch Strombo. |

Watching the CBC is as useful an exercise as watching grass grow - though not as entertaining.
I appreciate all the comments on "The Hour". That way I know I am not missing anything worthwhile. |

If you're on Facebook join the newly created group "I despise CBC's 'The Hour'"

Tell your friends let's get this group going strong, there are too many groups already glorifying this idiot and this puff piece of a so called entertainment and news show. |

The Hour is a cross between a late-night talk show and a left-leaning political satire in the Jon Stewart vein.
Hence, if it was on something like Comedy Central (or Canada's equivalent thereof), then fine. But it's arguably not an appropriate show for a publicly funded crown corporation TV station, imo. Especially when the CBC already has The Rick Mercer Report and other political satire shows (I don't know if "This Hour Has 22 Minutes" or "Royal Canadian Air Farce" are still on the air or not, as I haven't watched them in ages).
If those two shows are still on the air, then the CBC has no less than 4 political satire shows of a left-leaning bent (with the possible exception of Mercer's show). That's really a bit much, imo, and not something that tax payers should have to pay for. |

| A little known show on the religious channel CTS with a bald guy called Michael Coren garners over 200,000 viewers every day. And this show only airs in Ontario and Alberta. |

The benefit of even mildly right-leaning shows (like you could argue that Coren's is) is that they have a general lack of competition in Canada, whereas The Hour has to compete with the other left-leaning political satire shows that I named. |

I like how you grouped the Hour in with satire. I agree, its satire, nothing of substance. I see real potential for Fox News or some other non-leftist channel to flourish in Canada. Now, only if they could get to privatizing the Communist Broadcasting Corporation. |
