Oh God looks as though the Liberals are going to have another left wing extremist as leader of their party. Why on earth does the NDP even exist anymore?

And just like that, I'm a lot less worried about the Liberal's attempts to reclaim the centre. Rae is probably going to take the leadership this time - he'll be an effective fundraiser for the party, IMO.

McKenna and Manley can't say it, but I think that a big reason for them not running, is that they both realize that they're too conservative for the modern federal Liberal party. Heck, deep in their heart of hearts, they may even prefer Stephen Harper to most of today's federal Liberals - so why run against Harper for the Liberals?
