I really do think Julian Fantino would be a very good candidate in Richmond Hill.
You're kidding right? There's only one riding Fantino should run in and that's Vaughan. It's half Italian so you have to run an Italian to win. Lorello did well but Fantino would do far better. Lorello won't be able to win against Bevaliqua whose been the MP for Vaughan for the last 20 years. Fantino is one of the highest profile individuals in Ontario.
Chief of Police - city of London
Chief of Police - York Region (where Vaughan is)
Chief of Police - city of Toronto
Commissioner - OPP
Did I mention he lives in Vaughan too?
Oh, and if you run Fantino you won't have to worry about the Ontario liberals campaigning against him.
Why you may ask? Because the next federal election will probably be sometime from now until 2010. The next Ontario provincial election will be in 2011. If Fantino loses in 2010, he can run against Greg Sobara (the real premier of Ontario) in 2011 for the Ontario PCs and likely snipe him off. He'll have everything setup anyways. Volunteers, financing, plus campaign experience.
Speculation has it that the reason Dalton McGuinty chose Fantino as OPP commissioner was so that Fantino wouldn't run for MPP of Vaughan MPP against Sobara.
So that's basically Vaughan in a nutshell.
Fantino should be tapped for Vaughan, no questions asked. He's by and large the best choice. |

Nunziata? No way. |
While I thought the NDP turned Liberal turned Conservative might play out well in a Conservative-fearing urban area, with the recent news about him (which I wasn't aware of until your post) I certainly agree he'll have to be a no. |

Have you ever wondered why the Liberals are(were) referred to as the dream team this election.
If Marth Hall Finley and Ken Dryden are part of your dream team(both of whom can barley give a public speech without been droned out by snoring) it's more like a nightmare team. Michael(torture is good) Ignatieff, Bob(I never met a deficet I didn't like)Rae, Scott(the traitor)Brison.
Q.-How are these people better than what we have? A. - there not.
The only reasopn they call themselves the dream team is becuase their leader sucked. |

Well you have me convinced. I wonder how easy it will be to convince him? |
