National Newswatch speculates the Conservative platform will be released tomorrow.

I think it's a good idea to release it before the debates or the other leaders will hound Harper about it if it's not released. Why give them ammunition?

Thanks SFrank85.

Today, the NDP release theirs. Sharpen your pencils!

First thing that caught my eye - raising corporate taxes by $ 15 BILLION to fund their social agenda.

Agreed. Basically, the Tories would be branded as having a hidden agenda and "Canadians don't even know what they stand for"....

It would interesting to release the platform 1 hour before the debates so that Dion won't have rehearsed slogans.....

And after the debates the story will be two-fold:

Dion faulters in debates
Tories release platform

The debate after the debate will be very anti-Dion and focussed on Tory policy. Should be a good thing.

I hate to throw water on everything, but the debates are not going to change anyone's mind. Deep down, all us partisans already have the winners and losers picked. The truth is that May and Dion and Layton and Duceppe will simply not shut up, they will try to shout Harper down, they will talk over each other , and it will be a fiasco for everyone involved.

I disagree. I think swing voters really rely on the debates and platforms to decide where they throw their support.

People like us don't really care that much about the debates, except for a little entertainment.
