The weather phenomenon La Nina will bring Canada the coldest winter in nearly 15 years, Environment Canada warned Friday.

Environment Canada's temperature forecast shows the majority of the country will experience a "temperature anomaly" of below-normal temperatures through the months of December, January and February.

Much of Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan, Alberta and parts of British Columbia and southern Ontario will also see above-normal precipitation.

Wonder what this means for the Arctic ice sheet?

I dunno, but I imagine this will somehow be spun into Global Warming swooping down in it's reign of terror and shrinking those ice-caps like never before. Well, that will be the story after the Lefties get their hands on it. I mean, what else could record low temperatures produce other than more global warming in their minds?

Studies are showing that increases in cold temperature and snowfall are caused by global warming.

Studies have also found that menopause in women is happening due to global warming.

Low fertility rates have also been linked because of the increases in the temperature of the male nut sac.

Manure in farmers feilds is stinkier because it is warmer according to scientists.

John Ferguson is blaming his soon departure from the G.M. ranks on global warming saying that T.O. is becoming like Los Angeles and the players don't play well in warm weather.

Avril Lavigne is the latest teen celebrity to go without underware due to global warming.

I got all this in about 30 seconds of googling "caused by global warming". 8)

Guys, just for the record, the phrase "global warming" is a misnomer. The correct phrase is "climate change" The theory is that we will experience extremes in weather, both highs and lows in temperatures as well as an increase in hurricanes, tornados and rain storms.Whether you subscribe to the theory or not, how about getting the facts straight before you comment. Incidentally, how did this become a right / left issue anyway?

The theory is also in error. The theory says that there will be more warming at the poles than at the equator. If there is less difference in the temperature between the two then we should get less severe weather. Talk about a contradiction. (What's new).

The reason the ecophobes want to blame any extreme weather on Climate Change is because then they can blame EVERTHING on CO2 and the evil capitalist nations.

Ummmm. Both terms are correct and both terms are used in refereed scientific journals. So why don't you lose your pretentious know it all attitude and stop preaching your ignorance to others.

Better write a letter to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and tell them to stop "commenting" on global warming since they don't know the proper term...

Like the fact that there was a decided lack of things like hurricanes this year and last?

How? The communist, socialist, anarchist and anti-capitalist movements have all adopted "climate change" as their weapon of choice to bring about societal change. Before long, they were staging "environmental" protest marches, decrying the evils of profits and their hatred of corporations.

Given that all of these groups see Canada and most world governments as hindering what they want to change in the world which has NOTHING to do with the environment, isn't it nice to know the UN is cooperating fully and the Liberals want us to follow the UN's lead?

Watch this!!

And here's what "desmogblog" thinks of Penn & Teller. See any carefully articulated scientific arguments? Me neither.

Agreed! I happened onto the desmogblog entry while searching up the link since my old link (through Google videos) had been removed. Desmogblog doesn't even attempt to address the material content of Penn & Teller's show. They simply attack and denigrate Penn & Teller's character... and that of the assorted experts in the show.

I am old enough to remember the legion of industry "experts" who worked very hard to prove that smoking, DDT, cfc's, second hand smoke, asbestos and lead in gasoline were perfectly safe and that any claims to the contrary were being spread by the looney left and biased media looking for a story where no existed.

And I'm old enough to remember when the world was about to be plunged into an ice age by those same looney left. If even 10% of the claims which the looney left made came true, our planet would be barren already and yet it isn't. The looney left learned well the "lessons" of those industry "experts" and now it's they (the looney left) who are using pseudoscience to "prove" their fear-mongering.

How about the Looney Left saying cows are a huge threat to "Climate change" due to the methane they give off in their patties.

First they blame us capitalists for the extinction of species and millions of animals. Then they say our cows are causing global warming. Isn't it a wash(more cows/less other species).

I would have thought all animals cause methane(I know I do (.)
