| Quote: | I have a slightly different view on the definition of an atheist.
To me an atheist doesn't rule out the existence of God, but doesn't think it is particularly likely either. I guess an agnostic would be someone who doesn't know either, but who thinks there is at least a pretty good possibility. |
I think Websters Dictionairy could clear up your problem if you gave it a chance. |

That is precisely the problem! Different dictionaries (or different entries of the same dictionary) have different definitions. Whether or not I am an atheist depends on which dictionary you consult.
Personally I go with the literal definition "without theism". |

| I'm a skeptical Christian. My head tells me that belief in God is irrational and unscientific. My intuition tells me that Jesus is for real. |

did you know that there are more records of Jesus than of Julius caesar. So if you don't belive in jesus then I'd say it's because of your heart, not your head. |

You seem to have misunderstood. Does this make more sense to you?
My head tells me that religious faith is unscientific and irrational. My intuition tells me that Jesus is the real deal.

Former agnostic, and now Anglican.
I didn't come to church till 10 and didn't really believe till around 14 or 15. Since then I've been blessed with much greater faith. |

well there is lots of evidence (logical, that makes sence to the head) that supports jesus' existence. |

because all Tories are racist bigots who underfund orphans with illnesses. No but seriously I would like a more comprehensive poll too. I might get on that. It should differentiate between major christian groups too. |

I've read some accounts of Mormonism which show it to be very close to historical Christianity and then some accounts that don't.
Do LDS believe Jesus is God? Do they believe in the Trinity? |

Do LDS believe Jesus is God? Do they believe in the Trinity? | I personally believe it is. We believe that Jesus is the Son of God. As for the Trinity, we don't believe it. We believe God, Christ and the Holy Spirit to be three separate beings. I'm a bit unsure as to what you mean by historical Christianity. Are you referring to New Testament Christianity? If that is the case, yes I believe we do, in so far as we have a prophet and apostles organized in much the same way as it was in biblical times. |
