Can you get negative rep?
The mere thought almost makes me want to try.

Yeah you can get negative rep. That Jane somebody character was down to -12 or something. She is the least reputed user, and has pretty much disappeared from the board after throwing around insults and what not for a week. In her case, the negative rep is what she was looking for, it was all about the attention. If this had been Rabble, she would have fronted like a CPCer.

I've been banned over 15 times from Rabble, under different screen names. I must be too far left even for them.

My reputation was pretty low for a while and is still not much better. That's why I assumed it.

Your rep is low because you give a way alot of points. Being generous to others causes us to have lower reps. But then it must cost you something to prop up others.

System works okay.

Exactly. When you "give" reputation (either positive or negative) it comes out of your reputation. When you receive reputation (either positive or negative) it's added to your reputation.

Sorry I didn't reply more completely, JBG. I thought you were kidding so I jibbed back. Thanks, mrsocko, for providing the explanation.

And thanks again. I was wondering why I was fighting Janie and now Winston for the bottom.

No problem and don't worry... If you happen to give your reputation to the point of zero, that's it! No deficit spending allowed. We are, after all, a conservative website. One can only be pushed into negative numbers by receiving negative rep... like Winston and Janie...

Mulroney was a conservative and deficit spending didn't bother him.

Actually it bothered him alot. When his term was over there was a pretty good operational surplus(that is without deficit spending included) which was quite a good change from the Stalin...er Trudeau years.

Once interest rates dropped, the GST money came flowing in and Chretein screwed the provinces it was 10 billion dollar surpluses.

Mulroney was responsible for 2/3 of it.
