IIRC, there was a member of the Parliament Hill Detachment who ran to be a candidate for the CPC in the last election, and was told to resign from his job or the candidacy...

I do know that during the BGI for Recruits and Auxiliary members they take note of memberships in political parties. What for, I couldn't say.

They won't exactly tell us not to have membership in political parties, they certainly make it evident they'd prefer we don't engage in political activity... but running as a candidate while still an active member is a strict no-no.
