Quote:
NEW YORK — The latest FOX News poll shows that while President Bush’s job rating remains low and a majority of Americans disapproves of his performance, his approval rating is up this week to its highest level in five months. Today 37 percent of Americans say they approve of the job Bush is doing, up from 33 percent last month, and 58 percent disapprove.

In addition, approval of Congress also increased: 32 percent of Americans approve, up from 24 percent in August, and 56 percent disapprove.

As Americans traditionally begin to focus more on political and public policy issues after the Labor Day holiday, several factors could contribute to this up-tick in approval. First and foremost it could simply be that more Americans like what they see and are giving leaders in Washington a thumbs up. In addition, the poll was conducted during a week that saw many events that could have created a patriotic "rally effect."

Situation in Iraq

Earlier this week General David Petraeus gave his much-anticipated report to Congress on progress of the U.S. troop surge in Iraq. Over a third of Americans (35 percent) think his report was "truthful and objective" and 40 percent think it was "slanted toward the administration." Twenty-five percent were unable to give an opinion on the Petraeus report.

The poll finds that nearly half of Americans agree with Petraeus that some progress is being made under the surge: 49 percent think the increase in troops has led to improvements in Iraq (17 percent "major" improvements and 32 percent "minor"), while 45 percent say the surge has not made much of a difference.

Unfortunately, where it really matters, people aren't so optimistic:

Quote:
Between 67% and 70% of the Iraqis polled believe the surge has hampered conditions for political dialogue, reconstruction and economic development, according to the August 2007 findings.

Only 29% think things will get better in the next year, compared to 64% two years ago.

Any way you cut it, Congress and the ever liberal Bush have failed this country. Only a return to Constitutional government will save our Republic.

Deficit under control. Surge working. If this mortgage problem doesn't sink him(not rely his fault anyway) those liberals saying that Bush is the worst President in history may be eating crow.

Be careful JaneBella . . . These types of comments are not welcome here - even when directed at leftists.

We don't condone suggestions that leaders of civilized and peaceful nations be killed, or die. Death is a tragic event, and wishing death should be reserved for only the greatest of tyrants (read: Hitler, Stalin, Hussein).

And contrary to what you may have heard, we at the BT forums can indeed read between lines 8)

Let's look at this way Bush is now prepares a puppet now look at what has happen. His Administration has been undermined by "Constant Leaks supposedly" from the Pentagon or within the US Gov't. Reckless News Orgs and papers who have a absolutely disregard of people's safetly then their own by printing and distorting facts to benefit them or the journalist. Troops intimidated by anti-war radicals at recruiting stations, making hateful names towards christians. It looks to me sadly the SP's are succeding in undermining the War on Terror. Heck they no longer call it a War On Terror cause several months ago the Secular-Progessives passed a bill that does not allow War on Terror to be used anymore.

Well lets be serious here.
It is very well known that on a right wing forum people with a different opinion( dont agree that Bush and Harper are saviours) are considered trolls

So in my opinion someone saying it is a GOOD thing that Bush;s aproval rating went up is a "good thing"
is just as trollish.
Like why is it good a man who sent almost 4000 (and going up)young people to their death for his lies, a good thing?

Because you like Bush?

Lol, too funny.

You did respond

Bush is a moron and a person responsible for the death of almost 4000 Americans and 71 Canadians

So sad that you people admire this sick person.
