Clearly we all need to start thinking about the environment... and this event will help start that. We need to make the idea of helping the environment more mainstream. By having groundbreaking concerts in places like Shanghai where previosly the government had been hostile to environmental causes these concerts, I believe will reach a much larger audience then ever before with the global warming message. Take a moment to use the link above and take the live earth pledge.

Well since you asked...

Quote:
Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans in recent decades and its projected continuation.

Global average air temperature near the Earth's surface rose 0.74 0.18 C (1.3 0.32 F) during the past century. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concludes, "most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations,"[1] which leads to warming of the surface and lower atmosphere by increasing the greenhouse effect. Natural phenomena such as solar variation combined with volcanoes have probably had a small warming effect from pre-industrial times to 1950, but a small cooling effect since 1950.[2][3] These basic conclusions have been endorsed by at least 30 scientific societies and academies of science, including all of the national academies of science of the major industrialized countries.

He used wiki as a source  !

Honestly, all this does is show how desperate the global warming crowd is to indoctrinate the younger generation in their unscientific ideology. Is the planet warming? Yes and no. There will always be warming and cooling trends. I have yet to see a scientific study from these enviro fascists which takes into account all records since record keeping began, using all locations. They all just focus on one period of time in one location to mislead gullible people. It is a power play pure and simple. A drive for powerful people to usurp the power from the common man in the United States. So this live earth nonsense is being blown way out proportion by the MSM. It's a flop and no clear headed individual will even see it as more than a blip on the radar. These nut jobs have had their day in the sun and it is over.

Live earth has got to be at least as effective at fighting global warming as all the other things man does to try to stop natural processes beyond his control.

Just watching a show on disasters today, apparently there was some tidal wave at Burin Pennisula or something many decades ago. Live Earth could probably be just as effective at stopping the tides as at halting climate change.

Loved those bits by Mansbridge about the enviroment a couple months ago. He was talking about the water rising around vancouver and how it was going to devestate the island/Coast.

He said that over the last century the water has risen 3 millimetres.

He also said that the water is projected to rise by inches in the next 20 years.

I can't wait till the CPC privatise the CBC.

I don't know, Rick Mercer's one ton challenge was pretty useless too.
