Well, they did score one goal, more than I expected from them on the road actually.

Anaheim has made it through, game 4 or 5 is but a formality at this point. No one has ever come back from a 3 games to 0 deficit. At least not in ice hockey. I have already dumped Gaborik from my pool in favor or Dustin Penner.

The Canucks blew game 2 but managed an overtime win in game 3. Luongo can only carry them so far... They have to start scoring goals.

Turco is surprisingly good right now, Vancouver is winning more than they are losing, so I say everything is fine. They are scoring enough goals, and that is all that matters.

The last half of the season, I kept being surprised (pleasantly) by how Vancouver kept chipping away and winning games. It would be awesome to see them starting to get the bad bounces and crossbars going in instead of out of the net. It doesn't take much to make a huge difference.

Right now it is looking like the second round will be

Anaheim vs Vancouver Anaheim is through for sure, Vancouver has handled Dallas, barely, so far. It helps later in to be tested early.

Detroit vs San Jose San Jose has more than Nashville can handle. Ditto for Detroit and Calgary.

Buffalo vs Tampa
Lecavalier is super volcanic hot right now, simply unbeatable, playing at a level rarely seen. He could win this by himself the way he is playing right now. Ryan Smyth is not enough to put Islanders over the top.

Ottawa vs Rangers
Hossa does not seem to care about the post season, Atlanta cannot win without him.

Will have to wait another game or two to know for sure, but it is looking good for Ottawa and Vancouver right now. Ottawa can beat anyone in the East, if they show up, and Vancouver won the toughest division in the toughest conference; they can beat anyone in the West.

Did anyone predict a Rangers sweep of Atlanta? I know I didn't. Might have to watch these Rangers for the second round.

Vancouver pulls ahead 3 to 1 in the series with a 2-1 win (no overtime).

Lundqvist really needs to throw a game or two if I am going to pull ahead in my hockey pool. Doesn't look like much of a chance of that happening though.

My predictions at this point for the Championship, yea I know it's still the first round:

Detriot over Vancouver 4 games to 1 in the west
Ottawa over Buffalo 4 games to 3 in the east

Detriot wins Lord Stanley in 5 games over Ottawa

Pittsburgh will displace all these teams in three years

Isn't Crosby a free agent next year or something? Pittsburgh has to do it faster than 3 years at any rate.

I wonder what the Rangers chances are like against Buffalo? I think Buffalo is a lock for the third round myself, but I could be wrong.

Well, Vancouver is going to be eliminated next round. Too many shots allowed, too soft on the boards, losing too many faceoffs, losing too many races to the puck. It is too easy for Dallas to get into the zone. They will definitely be out in the second round. It is a pity too because Luongo is playing other-wordly, almost like 2 goalies out there. Turco I think has finally shaken the playoff monkey, even though this year is a losing effort. Turco is playing like 1.98 goalies tonight.
