I don't know how long the Loonie Left can keep getting away with this global warming crap. More importantly, is the leadership of the CPC starting to buy into it now as well, because of MSM pressure?

Environmentalists and scientists have found a perfect racket. Whether it's a heat wave or a cold snap, a drought or a deluge, the greens can always scream that the end is near.

As usual, this will change no one's mind on the subject. For the true believers, there can be no new evidence, because they know what is right. For the skeptics, it only tells them what they know; which is that humans don't know as much as they think they do.

People's views on science can change. Obviously it is harder to shift those ideologically committed to one perspective or the other. However in the broad middle people can be influenced over time by evidence, argument, and simple repetition.

The theory goes like this: Globol Warming warms the Earth because of greenhouse gases such as gas being released intot he atmosphere; the ice begins to melt, the hole in the ozone gets bigger in the south & breaks out in the north, the ocean rises, species become extinct. However what the left don't want you to know is that eventually with no ice in Greenland, or the Artic Ocean, with warmer temperatures, the Conveyor breaks down, and a pool of super cooled air in the one of the atmosphere's...trosophere? develops bringing in the cool air back, storms pop up, it rains hard, then the rain turns to snow, massive accumalation of snow, everything freezes in the centre of the vortex, & welcome to the next ice age. In short Globol Warming is speeding us towards the new ice age.

You're wrong here...
The depletion of the ozone layer has little to do with the current global warming theory.
And most of the global dimming theory revolves around one of two things: difference in sun-spot activity, and particles in the air that cause sunlight to be obscured. The combination of the two could spell some really cold times.

I still question the effect that our weakening magnetic shield will have on the climate. I would say that it must make it warmer than normal due to a weaker radiation shield - but I have yet to get a straight answer on this.

Quote:
On August 2, 2003, scientists announced that the depletion of the ozone layer may be slowing down due to the international ban on chlorofluorocarbons, chemical compounds containing chlorine, fluorine and carbon. [1] Three satellites and three ground stations confirmed that the upper atmosphere ozone depletion rate has slowed down significantly during the past decade. The study was organized by the American Geophysical Union. Some breakdown can be expected to continue due to CFCs used by nations which have not banned them, and due to gases which are already in the stratosphere. CFCs have very long atmospheric lifetimes, ranging from 50 to over 100 years, so the final recovery of the ozone layer is expected to require several lifetimes.
