Quote:
Canadian environmental groups opposed to the federal government's clean air policies are under fire themselves for launching a "sexist and gratuitous" critique of Environment Minister Rona Ambrose, suggesting she spends more time on her hair than she does on the job.

The attack was published yesterday in a newsletter distributed to thousands of delegates gathered in Nairobi, Kenya, for the start of the 12th annual conference of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

"The convention has seen some outstanding presidents and some ordinary ones. Canada's Rona Ambrose was neither," says the unsigned article.

"She might have the best hair of any [conference of parties] president, but she will be remembered as the worst COP president in the history of the climate convention."

Would this have been said of a male minister?

Expect two weeks of outrage from the Liberals/NDP in the House over this insult to Ambrose and women.

It will be interesting,
If Jack Layton does not go ape, he looks a lot less then an equal oppertunities Leader, and a lot more like an oppertunist.

So which groups were responsible for that statement? Cut them off from government funding (I'm sure they get it, don't all these flakes?) Reason: "Canadians find such blatant sexist attacks intolerable and totally against Canadian values. At least that's what the Opposition has made clear recently."

A funny thing about sexism is that it's only sexism if the sexism is aimed at women.
A funny thing about sexism is that sexism aimed at males is not sexism but constructive criticism.

The women in Parliament can stand up and scream about men's violence against women ... yet, there are no battered women in Parliament. There is a battered man, but he has enough sense in the face of women's bigotry to keep his mouth closed.

Weird, eh?
