Found this Reuters story while searching the net. Looks like the British Tories are polling at around 39% while Labour is polling around 20%. I know it doesn't mean much right now since the next election is in 2009, but it is interesting nonetheless.

While I am glad to see the socialists get an ass kicking, I ain't too jacked up about the UK Tories. David Cameron seems to be a hybrid of Joe Clark & Paul Martin: a fake conservative who has no principles, panders relentlessly & is dangerously power hungry.

Well, not all great Conservative leaders have to be decisive. Bernard Lord was a great Premier who held lots of consultations before acting.

Hopefully Cameron is more of a Bernard Lord than a Joe Clark.

Speaking of Joe Who, he guest lectured for my Government of Canada class the other day. He was hired here at McGill to guest lecture etc. He certainly doesnt' like us Tories too much.

Aren't the UK Tories pushing for withdrawal of British Troops from Iraq and Afghanistan?

Probably, they also pro-gay marriage now too. Maggie must be going insane because of the Labour-Lite stance that the British Conservative Party has taken recently.
