This poll also shows a 53% approval rating for Harper while Graham gets 38%.

And remember that this poll was done by the most ardently anti-conservative polling company there is, more anti-Tory than EKOS. So I tend to lend it some credibility

This poll is very similar to Ekos earlier this week which got the wags going. Only Gregg and Decima (same difference?) show them tied.

However, all the polls show a tightening of the numbers presumably due to stagnation in Ontario, slippage in BC, and a slide in Quebec.

Environics, for example, shows the current Tory-Liberal spread at 9 points which is a 10-point tightening in favour of the Liberals since March.

PM Harper's personal numbers remain strong, and should continue to be positive against either Ignatieff or Rae.

Seems to all depend on who you ask.

I hereby move that poll talk be consigned to the same place as conspiracy talk and racist vitriol. There is only one poll that counts, and it is held election day.

Who would have thought?

Canadians like not being lied to by their Government's ruling party?
I'm stunned!!!

CTV and the Globe and Mail have some sort of a tie-up with Allan Gregg and the Strategic Counsel. That's why they push those polls as if they're God's Own Truth, and rarely mention anything else. However, anything from that source has turned out to be seriously unreliable in the past, and worthy of a huge amount of scepticism. Ekos and Environics are actually likely to be much closer to the truth.

Decima has it at 32/30. My guess is that SES will be around 35/30.
