Are there any conservative Canadian celebrities in Canada?

The NDP has the Barenaked Ladies.

The Liberals have anyone employed by the benevolence of Can-con.

Who do the Conservatives have?

I hear that Nickelback is conservative.

Don Cherry is certainly conservative.

Who can name pro athletes / singers / actors / personalities that are conservative?

I think this will be a short list.

I think you may want to double check on Nickleback, they are known Cannabis smokers. Most people who are open about pot smoking are unlikely to be supporting a party that advocates jailing them. If it's true I'm going to have to right Chad a scolding email. lol

Another pot-related threadjack!

Don't discount conservatism due to marijuana use... as a libertarian who votes conservative, I'd like the government to bud-out of people's personal private lives when it comes to marijuana use. We don't need the state in our lives in this regard.

I cannot really think of anyone of any stripe. It seems to me, that not many Canadians wear their political affiliation on their sleeve ala the Dixie Chicks. At least not the people I am familiar with.

I imagine athletes are, which ones I dunno. Most US athletes are Republicans so its logical to assume that it would be the same up here.

this should tell you guys something ,,
does it?

celebrities realize they would be for the most part no where with out other people
conservatives by and large don't,, my opinion.

me, me,,,why share? its all mine , i did good you should have done so as well
life is choices and you are not my problem etc

i guess there are a few out there , lets face it ,,, but who?
Belinda stronachs dad maybe ,,magma inc.

semi celebrity,,then of course there's Charlton Heston and if everyone remembers how stupid he looked on Micheal Moore's film it would be best to forget he is a senior conservative.
from my cold dead hands,,,yeah CHARLIE RACIST,, ruined your entire career in those few minutes and came away as a major bigot.

wasn't Roszko of mayerthorpe notoriety found with donation slips to the conservatives?
not something we want well known in the party.
there are others found to be criminals who were conservatives,,maybe we should list them here.

Mr hockey who you mentioned is not as popular or liked as some here would think.

i really cant come up with any others,,,,you can bet that most in-mate voters and homeless voters are not conservative,,yeah think?

libertarians are the part of conservatism that i would relate with i guess

my rights yes, but never at the expense of anyone Else's,,
intelligence even from stupid laws that waste resources

not really thought of as another pot hijack,,, i hope
pothead hijack i will give you,,that's a compliment to me as according to studies makes me smarter ,, who would have thought pothead ended up just like calling someone brainiac

You'de think his ideas about Marijuana (growing it illegally), and crime(a how many time loser that was allowed out by weak liberal laws) would mean that he would support the NDP... Guess this little heard of rumour of yours proves that theory wrong..

Should we be surprised that canadian celebrities support the NDP/Liberals? not at all...
The majority of them are lefitst anyhow(musician, actor - not REAL jobs ;) ) They are the type of people who are too afraid to upset people, so they choose sides that tend not to piss people off. The media is very left-friendly in north america, with arguably only one real right-wing station(fox) through the continent.
About your best bet in canada for something not left-wing is CPAC, and that's pretty neutral I find..
Should we be taking some sort of hint from that? no...

Must ... not .... engage .... troll. Willpower .... staying strong.

PS. Frank Stronach? You guessed it, Liberal. Check out the candidates in the 1988 federal election in York-Simcoe. There are none so blind, as those who refuse to see.

PPS. I won't even get into Mr. Moore's propaganda pieces. I am surprised that you would bring in a Halliburton stock owner to support your admittedly weak position. Did you notice how Charleton Heston was wearing different clothes, and was behind different podiums for each sentence that was spliced together by Moore? Yeah, I figured that you missed that.

Rush has a number of pro-right songs.

Their album 2112 was dedicated to Ayn Rand and one of their symbols,"The Star Man", features a man sheilding himself from a red star.

Red star = socialism.
