Mulcair is a leader who understands that for the NDP to grow they need to move the parties political ideology away from the "Democratic Socialism" that is found in the NDP Statement of Principles, the question remains if the over 40% of the party membership that voted in the leadership election for Topp will accept that.

Its hard to argue the Green Party has not moved to the left under Elizabeth May in comparison to where it was under Jim Harris.

The question really becomes does the Green Party attempt to grow its membership or does it punt because May really dislikes Harper.
