Well, while we're on the topic of defining Stephane Dion, let's not forget about this:

So has anyone actually seen these so-called "attack" ads on the tube yet?

I haven't seen the ads. Mainly because I'm not one of those losers who sits around watching t.v. all night.

Instead I devote my time to important and valuable things, like message boards and video games.

This is definitely not a good idea. The Libs will just respond with a TV ad such as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9mibZYpVPY

... and a Radio ad like this: http://moses.last.fm/download/.....+Blues.mp3

Wasting money on these ads was stupid. They should get a better creative coordinator also. Why do all our ads suck? How about some positive ads about what we are doing? How about INIDIRECTLY criticizing the opposition using facts - like why we can't meet the kyoto targets, how many jobs would lost etc etc..It's better to use ads to explain policy than attack others. Attack ads usually show that the attacker has no policies.

Libs are just Libs they are out of touch and claim Conservatives are out of touch. Look at the Dems in the USA they claim all this BS that the Reps are out of touch with reality which is they themselves are out of touch........ok so some of the reps are corrupt but it shows the agenda of the Libs is fear and smear.

We've tried being positive...
The right has been too nice, and it has bitten us in the %#^ for too long. When we tout our policies the left and their legions of interest groups proclaim them as the next mein kempf and its done and over with.

Now, by pointing out a very real and pathetic history of Mr. Dion's uselessness, we go on the offensive. Is it a miracle cure? no...

Can it hurt? I doubt it. I think most of the people who voted conservative last time will do so again for these reasons:

Incumbent status - always harder to take down incumbents unless something pretty bad has happened.

Kept promises - There's an ever-growing list...

Smart Campaigning - The CPC has fixed its campaign teams, and is getting more and more prepared.

Strong and Attractive policies - The CPC has some real gems in this last speech...

Harper's not so scary - He's softened his image significantly, don't underestimate the effect that the world not ending after he came into power has on the minds of people. Some of the most left wing people I know have said they're actually quite impressed with Harper..

Harper is believable - see promises kept.

Weak opposition - Dion is a wimp... Enough said. NDP is losing votes, hence their attempts to work with the government. Bloc will be a tough one in Quebec though.

We shall see though.
