I need to be a little discreet about this.
I'm trying to dig up information-- dirt as it were-- on a company.
Fear not, it is for the conservative cause.
I have the company's "official" business name and an address where it operates.
I want to know: what kind of information is available in the public domain from a business name/ address?
I remember going to an information session in the States on how to dig up dirt on politicians. You can dig up all kinds of tax information and info on court documents through government-operated databases. It's just a click away.
What can you do with a business name and address in Ontario?
Can I find out the business license number?
Can I find out who owns the business?
Can I find out who owns the place of operation?
Can I find out tax information-- are they in arrears?
Can I find out about liens?
Can I find out about employee names?
If so...how do I do that?
If you know what other kinds of information I can get that could be of use, please let me know.
Please give me pointers on what I can find out. I thank you so much. I wish I could give you more info but I can't so that I don't jeopardize my investigation.
You have just joined and you request advice on how to gather information on a company. Do you consider that the members of this forum to be obtuse? (Question posed by an ex-corporate headhunter & human resource consultant).
