I do not purchase periodicals of the left, however I will glance through them at the library or bookstores to see what they're thinking.

Editor John Macfarlane perturbed when he said Prime Minister Harper is indifferent about cities. A few pages onward they had some brief interviews or quips with George W. Bush with 3 prime ministers, and at the end of the leftist they had a full page cartoon with our PM and government with Pierre on a canoe, the saviour, come to save the day.

The plight of Canadian cities

About the Walrus: Fearless. Witty. Thoughtful. Canadian

The Walrus launched in September of 2003 with a straightforward mandate: to be a national general interest magazine about Canada and its place in the world. We are committed to publishing the best work by the best writers from Canada and elsewhere on a wide range of topics for readers who are curious about the world. The Walrus is published by a registered non-profit charitable foundation.

And of course they have a picture of Trudeau on the cover of one of their earlier issues.

Hence I emailed the following to the editorial department, Macfarlane, and posted it online. But you can bet on it they likely will not publish it. Thank goodness for Blogging Tories and all the conservative weblogs out there in cyberspace.

Re: Editor's Note

Whenever I am at bookstore I pick up a copy of Walrus, thank goodness it's not called Beaver. First Nations peoples are not fond of beavers that stagnate free flowing waters. (Read Ojibway/Edler Duke Redbird's poem The Beaver).

However, the point of this email is about my disappointment with John Macfarlane's comment about our Prime Minister Stephen Harper who is considered to be a fine Statesman, world class; and the Conservative administration are doing a fine job considering the global financial crisis and the ongoing battles with Islamists.

Macfarlane stated in the January issue, "As for the current Prime Minister, the only word is to describe his response to the challenge facing the country's cities, notwithstanding recent stimulus spending, is indifference."

Our Prime Minister is indifferent to Canadian citizens. I think not. But this is so typical of the left. Several cheap shots were taken in Walrus Magazine at the PM, including a cartoon with Pierre Trudeau in a canoe like a saviour. I always wondered were Pierre Elliot's buckskin jacket was made. Perhaps at one of his favourite communist countries, China per se.

Continue the awareness... sincerely,

ps. My small weblog has been read in several countries in the world even Taiwan, where quite a few read my profound and satirical comments.

I hope the walrus Mag enjoys the benefit (of around a thousand pennies) from the donation of Peter Mansbridge's anchor chair at their charity auction.

Considering what has transpired in the past few years our glorious country is in great shape compared to other nations. Prime Minister Haper and administration have done a commendable job... and with a majority government we would all benefit in Canada.

Plus we have Ethical Oil as Ezra Levant boldy stated and wrote about. Such an appropriate title, when other oil is from Iran, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Venezuela and so forth. Honourable Peter Kent will do the Ministry of Environment justice, and though he seems mild he is a rock.

However, there is the mainstream media and cohorts like Walrus who will disparage.

As a writer, novelist, playwright at one time, and screenwriter, I seldom associate with those writers who think they are smarter and better than anyone of the right, and centre-right. I challenge them. Actors, directors and producers annoyed me and still do. And many of them read my weblog what's Onward James saying now?

Often you will find jealousy when it comes to the entrepreneurs and corporate world. I have never asked for a government grant as an artist, and with my theatrical and film projects I financed with what I could and raised the rest. If it looked like a money loser for investors I didn't produce like CBC, many theatrical companies etc.

If you are interested

Pierre Trudeau was not a phony, he stated that he preferred the communist-socialist governments of Cuba and China. But the media thought he was joking... or perhaps that's what they wanted for Canada: Egalitarian and Top-Down Statism.

Thank goodness the Internet, and sites like Blogging Tories exist, and SUN NEWS NETWORK will be availbale. There are also a few on Talk Radio, Roy Green, John Oakley, Charles Adler... even John Tory, who sometimes irritates. American talk radio is terrific, so many conservatives. Radio today is one of the best sources of information because it is live. Callers and voice their opinions and spread the word, counter-balance the leftist elites and intelligentsia.

Frankly, if I was younger I would move out west, to Alberta. Live on a ranch. But since I am in Ontario once the spine of the country I try to comment, email letters to journalists, politicians, write comments for my satirical yet sagacious weblog... and exchange with Blogging Tories members.

By the way, William Gairdner (The Trouble With Canada...Still!) emailed a thank you note that I posted a bit about him and his views on the forum. He will be on The Agenda (TVO) with Steve Paikin, January 10th at 8:00 PM, Ontario time.
