Week 1..

Detroit at Chicago - Detroit - Meh, Chi city did not look good at all in the pre season. Detroit did.

Oakland at Tennessee - Tennessee - Raiders upgraded this year, but they are not beating Tenn. Plus the Patriots have the Raidars first round pick for next year so I am bias.

Indianapolis at Houston - Indianapolis - This will be a good game. This is the Texans year.

Miami at Buffalo - Buffalo[/b - Long shot pick.

[b]Cincinnati at New England
- New England - Going to be a tough game for the pats. There secondary is weak and young, and the bangles have some really good receivers. But the Pats have Brady.

Carolina at NY Giants - NY Giants - Carolina looks awful

Atlanta at Pittsburgh - Atlanta - No big Ben againts Matt Ryan..

Cleveland at Tampa Bay - Cleveland - Toss up..

Denver at Jacksonville - Denver - Ortin looked good in pre season

San Francisco at Seattle - San Francisco This is San fran's year. And Seattle is coached by Pete Carrol. As a Patriots fan, Pete Carrol, LMAO..

Arizona at St. Louis - St. Louis - Sam Bradford is the real deal.

Green Bay at Philadelphia - Green Bay - Green Bay will go to the Super Bowl this year. Arron Rogers is a beast.

Dallas at Washington - Dallas - Just cause..

Monday night..

Baltimore at NY Jets - Baltimore - I hate the Jets. But Bmore has really upgrade there offence this year, they are super bowl contenders. The Jets with Mark Sanchez are pretenders.

San Diego at Kansas City - San Diego Not even close, even with the hold outs SD is facing.

Rap up....

The first three weeks are always the most unpredictable, and week one is the worse. But one thing you can be sure when it comes to my picks....

I am more then likely wrong... 8)

The season began last night with the Saints beating the Vikings in a close low scoring game. I refuse to talk anymore about a game that involves Brett Farve.

Pats lose to the Jets...

Butler should be cut.. I am so pissed right now, even after Revis leaves do to a broken heart(Hamstring was BS) after the Moss one handed catch, we still lose.

Also I think the refs with the PI where suspect.. Disaster nothing short of a disaster, D.Butler is suspect. Patrick Chung is a beast, and Devin Mccourty is proving that "hoodie" was right to take him over Dez. But the season ending injury to Bodden is proving to be very, very bad. Butler sucks, phuking sucks...

Phuck, the Dolphins lead the division!!!

WTF.....

I am furious right now, Brady needs to cut his god damn hippie hair(low blow)... :x

Bills next week..

EDIT: The Moss one handed catch over Revis. Revis left the game with a broken heart after this one. Yup, Revis is a poster now, Revis Island, all you can eat, Ha...

Greg Knopping at Patspulpit.com, has the first round up of the loss..

Quote:
The hype surrounding the Patriots was pretty significant following their blowout victory to open the season over the Bengals last Sunday. Suddenly, that hype is gone after a second half debacle and 28-14 loss to the New York Jets.

Patriots RB Kevin Faulk, is out for year.

I will try to post the games for sunday and why Faulk being out is huge news. But I am so sad a leader and a true football player like Faulk, season and career could be over. Not to mention the Patriots could be done with the Faulk injury. 3rd downs for the Pats are going to be interesting...

Update from the craziest bye week in Patriot history..

It all started from a tweet last tuesday by Bill Simmons(sportsguy33)*. "Moss Vikings", with that the internet exploded and the blog posts and tweets began. In what was the craziest night and morning as a Patriots fan that was not a super bowl night. Randy Moss was traded from the Pats to Vikings for a third rounder.

(*)Here is a post by Bill Simmons explaining the tweet and going over how sources and news is broke at ESPN. Really good read

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn.....ortCat=nfl

I guess Pats fans should have seen this coming* after the week one press conference, when Moss went off about his contract. In Patriot land no player is bigger then the system or the team, and Bill Belichick reinforced that point with this trade. Now there have been rumurs of fights with coaches and the Hairgate story of Moss and Brady going toe to toe over grooming habits. But the fact is the Pats where moving away from Randy..

(*)This article sums up a lot of the media's reaction when the trade was announced. Tho all sides say Moss was not a distraction, the fact that he could become one I think led to his trade.

http://sports.espn.go.com/bost.....id=5656758

Here is the thing, the Pats are rebuilding. The Pats D is pretty much first and second year players(We also have 2 pics in the first three rounds of the draft next year). And it shows, as our secondary has been sliced and diced. So the offence is going to try to stay on the field as long as they can, to keep the D off the field. Moss in a contract year no doubt want's the ball, and word is in the monday night game at half time Moss got into words with QB Coach Bill O'Brien(Unofficial Offensive Coordinator) for only getting one ball tossed his way. Everyone denies it, but the writing was on the wall, Moss was gone two days later.

Bill Simmons sums up my feelings on this trade in this awesome article, it was just time to break up with Moss(Read this article it is amazing trust me)

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn.....ortCat=nfl

I will never forget that 2007 season. Being a Toronto sports fan it was almost as good(If the Pats won that SB it would have been better, for me) when the Jay's beat the Braves for their first World Series or when Joe Carter hit it out of the Park for their second World Series. It was the most amazing team I have ever seen, that was denied at the end of a championship, but still awesome to watch.

So now this Sunday the Back to the Future era for the Patriots begin. There offence will go back to when they won three super bowls, dink and dunk offence. Brady just got payed the highest contract in NFL history, he is going to have to earn that money..

Just some extra thoughts and links..

Brady's INT's going to Moss is a interesting stat..

http://www.coldhardfootballfac.....piral.html

The Patriot way. Hoodie does not mess around. The system and team(T-E-A-M) is more important then the player..

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.c.....index.html

Build up to the breaking point..

http://www.boston.com/sports/f.....ing_point/

And with that the Pat's go up againts the ravens this sunday. The last time the Ravens and Pats played the Ravens layed a beating on the Pat's, last year @ foxboro in the playoffs. This will be a tough match up for the pats. But the Pats are 22 and 0 at home in the regular season, and 7 and 0 after the bye week(since 2002). Going to be a great game. Let's Go!!!!!

Tomorrow on Game day morning on the NFL network Michael Lombardi has a interview with Tom Terrific. Here is what Mike had to say about Tommy..

Quote:
I know it's hard to admire, or even like guys who play for teams that don't hold our rooting interest. Trust me, I know.

I grew up a Redskins fan and could never warm up to Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach because he wore that silly star on his helmet. But over time I learned to appreciate the skills that Staubach possessed, his competitive nature and his ability to make the clutch throw. I never actually rooted for him, but I learned to respect him, as a player and as a person. Most of all, I learned to admire him on so many different levels.

This week, I spent time with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for a NFL Network "Game Day Morning" interview, which will air this Sunday. Before reading further, please drop your team rooting interest guard down and view Brady as a person, not a Patriot, because there is much to admire about him.

When the interview was complete, a Vince Lombardi quote came to mind. Not the recognizable one ("Winning isn't everything; it's the only thing.), but rather the one that I believe is Lombardi's best quote, done in the spirit of his Jesuit training and applies perfectly to Brady.

"The greatest reward for doing is the opportunity to do more," Lombardi once said. He was never satisfied with success, as he was constantly driving for perfection from his players and from himself. And so is Brady.

Brady is all about the next minute, the next hour, and the next challenge. He lives for the next event and holds little memory of any past success. He is the definition of driven. He lives for the competition, he relishes being able to come into the building and compete with his teammates on anything -- all in the spirit of trying to make everyone better. He is one of those rare athletes, like Peyton Manning and many others, that combine an extremely unique passion with God-given talent.

Brady is also extremely self-critical. He is always looking for ways to improve his own game, because he believes he must do everything perfect in practice to achieve success on Sundays. (For example, Brady believes his injury in 2008 was a result of him not working his fundamentals in the pocket.)

Brady has the mentality that if he doesn't come to work and work extremely hard on every detail that makes a quarterback successful, he will fail. He takes no shortcuts. He knows that his success lies in his own preparation -- that without total preparation a team cannot win.

When the quarterback of the team is the hardest worker and the best leader, the team will follow him everywhere and assume his personality. As the Patriots rebuild their roster around Brady, they know his work habits won't change, his commitment to the team won't change, nor will his will to win. Because Brady has no memory of the last three Super Bowls, all he cares about is doing it again.

In what is fast becoming a wild year in the NFL, this Moss trade just makes it Wilder..

Go Pats Go!!!!

2007 Randy, nothing like it. I will never forget this season(except for black sunday). " Straight Cash hommie", Clap for him......

The following teams have potential to win the Superbowl: New York Giants, Baltimore, New England, Pittsburgh, Green Bay... and New Orleans is not out of the picture.

What disgusted me this weekend is what coach Shanahan did with McNabb on national TV, bringing in Rex Grossman for the final two minutes when the Redsklins had a chance to win. Regardless, that this is a one year contract, Shanahan should have let him finish. Perhaps Shanahan's ego has ballooned since he is the VP as well. He should get Cutler from Chicago, one of his boys, and trade McNabb to Chicago where he wanted to play, but they couldn't do a deal.

Shanahan's ridiculous call has caused friction within the team.

Well, I think I am going to go with Pittsburgh here. If Troy Polamalu cannot victimize Aaron Rogers, no one can. Also, I hate that arrogant smirk on Roger's face, and want to see it wiped off one more time.

I would rather set myself on fire, jump off my balcony, into a pool of gasoline then root for Pitt. It was bad enough I was routing for them as my second option outcome againts the Jets(First option was hoping a meteorite hit the 50 yard line of heinz field at the start of the game).

I like Arron Rodgers*, only cause he is a Brady fan. But I am not going to lie, I could not give a flying fig about this game. It is all about the draft right now for me.

I think GB will win, they have a awesome D that can match up with Pitt, and there offence can play like the Pats(Pats are 8-1 againts Pitt over the last decade, they have there number). GB can exploit Pitt just like the pats have.

But who knows, maybe Rapelisberger plays lights out. I just think GB offence is better. Both D's match up well. Should be a great game..

*This smile bugs you..

You know what drives me bonkers about Rogers is that stupid "show the belt" thing..

Yeah, I won't be watching the game either. Why can't non-dirt bag teams, with nice guy players (like Peyton Manning) make it to the super bowl game more often? The last few years, I really liked Arizona, they may have played a bit loose, but they had exciting games that were fun to watch. That shoot out against GB 2 or 3 years ago was an all time classic!

So True. Last years SB was awesome. To see two of the classiest QB's in the game going at it, was a treat to watch. This year to see a scumbag like Rapelisberger go and to watch the media wash away his scumyness just grinds my gears.

As you know I am a huge TFB(Tom F'n Brady) fan, but I really respect Peyton*. Little O/T here is a great article by Bill Simmons on TFB and Peyon's rivalry. I had no idea Peyton called tommy after his knee injury, classy, pure class. It is a really good read, and so you know Bill is a Boston homer.

For sure, Kurt Warner is a great story and Larry Fitz is just a awesome dude(feel bad for him right now, hope he gets a QB or traded to NE). That shoot out with GB was one of the best games. it still irks me that Arizona lost that year to Pitt in the SB. Even more so that Santino Holmes plays for the Jets now..

I will still watch, but I really do not want to see Rapelisberger get his third ring. To see that guy mentioned with Brady,Manning and Brees is just wrong...

*Man I love this clip from last years SB(the Manning faces are gold[so you know Manning face is a joke around NFL sites, there is sites dedicated to them, it is pretty funny])!!!!!
