You should be a stand up comedian. CBC and CTV/GlobeMedia are entirely, unapologetically hardline anti-conservative biased.

The reason we need Sun TV is specifically because the Canadian airwaves do not have a neutral news source, and it is in dire need of one.

I'd be happy to pay for it as long as it's matched by the choice not to pay for or receive CBC or CTV.

No, they aren't anti-conservative. The CBC is a bit left, but not systematically so; it's just that they happen to employ a lot of more leftist employee demographic, but they don't cater to the liberal demograph.

CTV you're just completely wrong about. Most of their news reports are simple summaries of events with no real interjection from pundits or guests, just news reports. As for their opinion segment, their previous most popular character, Mike Duffy, is now a Conservative senator.

The idea that CTV is left is a joke. I can entertain the possibility of CBC being left, but not systematically so, and certainly not because they have an agenda.

I have to question your judgement if you can't admit the basic fact that both CTV and CBC's news reporting are overtly left-wing. Neither of them just present the news, it's almost always either a lie of omission, or a strongly torqued op-ed disguised as a news piece.

Kinda Neutral,

Is truth considered a smear campaign. An American group led by Soros is attempting to influence the licensing of a Canadian Television Station. Not true?

So the usual players must have the field all to themselves and all distending opinions should not be allowed over the airways. What happened to I may not agree with what you have to say but I will defend your right to say it? Isn't that suppose to be an American Credo.

Your statement has no merit. By the way I am well versed reading several newspapers and yes I do read the Liberal Star as well.

TV news as it now stands are really no more than editorials with lots of left wing spin thrown in. CTV was a lot fairer in the past but during the last year they have joined the left leaning CBC and their ilk. Yes I do watch and LISTEN to them both on a regular basis. Do you?

There would be lynchings, stonings, drive bys and hostage takings if just one Conservative commented on a proposed left wing broadcaster.
Two faced lefties, they'll wipe your tears with their kerchief and then stuff it in your throat.
Ya know that diddy about they came for him, well lefty sycophants can see it's their time to go and are converting to Conservatism and common sense.

Yes, I do. I happen to be employed on a regular basis by CBC, CTV and Quebecor.

That is an obvious smear article. It speaks about what he did during WWII, where hundreds of thousands of otherwise ordinary citizens did less than savoury things in order to survive. There was cannibalism in the Jewish ghettos, and not even by less-than-clean individuals; there were prominent Jewish businessmen who wrote about eating the dead in the ghetto in order to get enough food to survive.

The article itself has no merit. It's an article created by the opposing party attacking the personal past and character of their opponent, written solely to pull the focus off the actual argument and what's occurring. That's pretty much the largest motivator for these sorts of articles and that's exactly what's going on here.

TV news is far more than editorials; CTV NewsNet spends the majority of its day simply repeating news reports. Stay out of primetime news time, as it's terrible everywhere, in almost every country, and is not actually news. They're simply opinion shows dressed up to be more entertaining so you'll watch it instead of what's over on CBS.

CBC is definitely tilted to the left, CTV news net from what I see seems fairly neutral, I can't point to a slant either way, unless it is by omission. I don't watch Global so can't comment.

If anyone can't see that a foreign org. based in New York is overtly attempting to deny conservative freedom of speech/media has to have their heads in the sand ( or elsewhere).

http://www.avaaz.org/en/no_fox_news_canada if this isn't a blatant attempt at interfering I don't know what is.

SunTV should be given the same consideration other Canadian news channels get, it should be a level playing field.

We should all be writing to CRTC to support SunTV, do it now.

This has nothing to do with freedom of speech. This has to do with Sun TV applying for a license not meant for it. Sun TV will be free to broadcast regardless of whether or not it receives this license.

Sun TV should be granted the same licence as CBC and CTV for carriage, there should not even be a dispute over this.

Exactly !! The petition is about stopping SunTV, they don't want any other opinions.

'not meant for it' is a matter of opinion, they should have a level playing field with the same carriage as CBC or CTV.

Question? Didn't the CRTC mandate that CTV News be limited to a news loop so as not to compete with CBC???? I am not sure so you can set me straight if this is not the case.

It's really not. SUN TV has already been quoted as saying it will have a conservative slant on news.

It's really the end of the discussion at that point as far as the Class I license goes, which is why they've revised their request to a Class II, which will also likely not be fulfilled for the same reason.

Could you find said quote of SunTV stating they are aiming for "conservative news coverage"?

Where have they said this?

The left-wing media keeps making this claim, but QMI have repeatedly said that Sun TV is not a Fox clone, that it's not even a conservative channel. Sun TV's purpose is to introduce a neutral voice into a market that only has left-wing voices right now.
