I'm jw a retired engineer ... retired due to disability. I'm now a househusband for my wife.
I was a fulltime lone father to two boys. I spent many years advocating for the rights of fulltime lone fathers: The discrimination and outright bigotry facing that group was once a direct and serious threat to the lives of many children.
It's odd in a way ... but I find conservatives are much more "liberal" in being willing to see men in non-traditional roles as just ordinary guys. Certainly conservative women are MUCH MUCH more likely to support changes for males in the few areas in which males are badly mistreated.
I very strongly believe that the hope for fairness and decency in our world comes from conservative women, for the simple reason that they are willing to see their menfolk as fellow human beings.
You'll find I know a LOT more about gender than most people. I still read, at least an hour a day, on the topic. It's a big field of knowledge and one which changes rapidly.
There's one thing on BT which I do not see: I do not see the equivalent of "feminism." From a conservative point of view that is decency & fairness in gender and has no name. Call it gender politics if you will. The topic is worth discussing and an important part of conservatism.
