Of course, many will criticize Cheney because he was the de facto leader in the 43rd president's administration. Thank goodness, he was there. However, George W. Bush was smart to listen to his father, or at least recruit people who had had solid experience. Did Cheney make a lot of money? Perhaps. But legally or Obama's clan and the mainstream media would be all over him.
I believe the Islamist War has just begun and this is but one phase. When the troops are removed they will wait for the right time and start all over again, which is a 1300 year continuation for the return of the Golden Age of a Caliph... and Sharia Law for others.
