I think it comes down to, there are people who will be successful students regardless, and there are people who will not. I think you would end up with an education system that looked a lot like a homeless shelter.
Which ones do you pay? All of them? because that would be expensive. So how is this decided? Parents' income?
Can you imagine the bureaucracy to administer this?
I could maybe see giving parents a tax break if their child is in school and there's a bunch of scholarships already out there if a child does well. Tax breaks are already done with post-secondary tuition. I think these should be increased.
