The Adaugeo Index Poll: 96% (50 people) stated that Earth Hour was "Unlogical BS"
The Blogging Tories Poll: 100% (12 people) stated that Earth Hour was "Unlogical BS"

In total 97% (62 people) of those polled thought that Earth Hour was was unlogical and poorly thought through, while 3% (2 people) thought it raised awareness, and 0% said that it had any real effect. Thanks alot to Platty of http://plattytalk.blogspot.com for driving traffic to the surveys!

Interesting that not one person (even the enviornmentalists who wrote me nasty emails) who voted thought this day achieved anything! That says a lot, does it not?

Your post is illogical BS. You need to learn about things such as "sample size" and "representative sample" before you quote polls. Quoting a poll from a site with a banner stating that global warming is a hoax is silly. It is like taking a poll on gay marriage and using only male back up dancers in your poll.

I think it raised awareness of the issue....many people unaware of much said "hey, what the &*$#& happened to the lights". This would have put the thought into their head. Nobody thinks twice about some guy with a sign on the corner...but the lights going out attracts attention. Greenpeace got major face time on the CBC and had images of cute little kids saying they wanted to do their part. It was a well thought out publicity stunt.

I don't think it did much for the environment though....all the power we use here is nuclear and hydro at that time of night. I bet lots of those burning candles were made with petroleum by-products.

The margin of error was +/- 12.45% 19 times out of 20. The sample can be classified as representative under the doctrine of "voluntary participation". No one was invited or excluded from taking the poll.

Have said that; the poll is no where near scientific and mainly for fun. . But as a professional market researcher I can assure you that (sadly) it is as relevant as 1/3 of the "polls" being released by environmental groups.

AGW Hysteria needs more publicity like Michael Ignatieff needs an ego boost and a trip abroad.

Well, Earth Hour is not BS, it is CS. That’s right; it is nothing more than that methane gas coming out of a cow’s rectum!
