Define "rich" in meaningful terms. I'm rich in "life" because I have a wonderful wife and two healthy children. I no longer worry about making the next house payment but I will be making house payments for a while.

I've seen websites like these before and it's always amusing how somewhere in the midst of their blather, there's a solicitation for funds. At least this one doesn't link to pictures of starving children.

Yes yes yes. I'm in the top 14.4% of the richest people in the world. Just too bad the consumer price index is much mucb MUCH higher here in Alberta than Angolia.

Not saying that I'm not better off than the poor in Angolia. I am better off than them. But a $ for $ comparison in misleading as the buying power is much different. As evidenced by their own statements
"$8 could buy you 15 organic apples OR 25 fruit trees for farmers in Honduras to grow and sell fruit at their local market."

Just for interest, $1000 CAN would put you in the top 50% of the worlds wealth. But yet, they still throw in "Many peoples lives could be happier if you donated just one hour's salary (approx $0.47 - UK estimate)." I can't imagine anyone making only $1000 a year could afford to give anything.
