I noticed this on another forum, and did not believe it till I saw it with my own eyes.
I recall the NDP slamming the Conservatives in 2004 and 2006 for basically being the rich white man party that was not diverse in terms of including women or minorities.
As I had a look see at their caucus for the 40th sitting of Parliament I noticed something...
http://www.ndp.ca/ourcaucus
Of 39 members,
12 members who are women and saw only one person of colour (Ms Olivia Chow) all the rest are white males.
It would seem that Jack's "Kitchen Table that includes everyone" looks a lot like the Board room table that we were accused of. |

I'm sure a party like the NDP, which is based on the principle of diversity, ran many candidates who belonged to visible minorities. The fact that they didn't get elected does not reflect poorly on them, but rather highlites the extreme right- wing racism that still exists throughout Canadian society. |

I'm sure Taliban Jack would say "Do as I say, not as I do!" just like his stance on private medical clinics.

perhaps the candidates were truly not as qualified, would you elect somebody for the sake of diversity? besides, we have seen Michelle Jean, Clarkson and Lincoln Alexander as "visible minorities".. you grow a segregating attitude when you labeling yourself as something like an "African-American". They should all just be "Americans" and we should just be "Canadians". This visible minority business should not be an issue.. |

That is surprising. It does make me wonder what could be behind something so strange. |
