Pinball Clemens seems to be pretty social-conservative.

Actually....there's a guy who could run for the CPC....

In a stunning exception to Winston Churchill's axiom, "Show a man who's a capitalist at 20 and I'll show you a man with no heart; show me a man who's a socialist at 40 and I'll show you a man with no brain", Rush's lyricist Neil Peart is far from a conservative but has evolved into a limousine liberal. Read his autobiographical "Ghost Rider" and you'll see what I mean.

Yeah, I know that Pinball is conservative. Our guys in Toronto have tried to get him to run for mayor.

Does Rex Murphy count or is he too media to count as a celebrity?

As someone remarked earlier, there aren't too many Canadian celebs who use their celebrity to push their politics. Even the Bare Naked Ladies don't screech anti-Harper slogans so much as they support projects and throw concerts to raise funds (ie: positive energy versus negative).

How about Bruce Allen? His ongoing "Reality Check" radio series is great fun and, politically, just to the "right" of Ronald Reagan.

Just curious, how do you guys know Pinball is conservative? I can't say I'm the biggest football fan (some would argue I'm not a fan), but I watched him a lot in the media when they won the Grey Cup a couple years back.

Bush supports our conservatives...he even refers to harper as Stevey
He may as well be considered a Canadian as we jump to his command .

Could you clairify what you mean by how we jump to Bush's command, and could you do it in a new threat (just copy and paste this post) as this is off topic to this thread. :D

Mostly just a hunch.

Pinball is very open with his Christianity and has prayers on the field before a game; so one could guess that he's a social conservative.

He's also active in youth groups which emphasize personal responsibiliity and discipline which lefty feel-good group hug groups look down on.

Plus the fact that he's American-born means he's more likely to be "rightwing" at least according to Canadian standards.

Neil Peart is definitely a libertarian. Full blown conservative, I'm not so sure. In a biography titled "Rush - Merely Players" an interview with Neil I got the feeling he was non-partisan.

Songs like 2112, Freewill, A Farewell To Kings, are certainly about the individual rebelling against the state.

Bobby Clarke is a conservative. Just read in the paper the article talking about how he's lashing out at Ken Dryden for his derogatory comparison of the Broad Street Bullies and the Conservative party. He then went on to say that if he still lived in Canada that he would vote Conservative.
