A poll released today (sorry, no link) has Morton at 17% tied with Oberg while Dinning is at 16%. Some questioned the methodology but it sounds like sour grapes. Once Morton is revealed to be a true contender I think many will jump on the bandwagon.

| I was pleasantly suprised to read this in the paper today - I'd feared the only choice would be between Dinning (ugh) and Oberg (meh). Morton's always been my preferred winner, but I've also liked what I've head from Mark Norris. |

NO. Morton and Dinning are both running in and around the 30% support level. DeLong was a fringe candidate running near the bottom of the pack. The only way Dinning would double his support is if Morton backs out and supports Dinning (which would happen if hell froze over) or if a combination of candidates back out and back Dinning. And keep in mind that not all supporters of a candidate that drops out and backs another candidate go and support that other candidate.
To be honest, some people within the party were even wondering why she was even running at all. Some thought she might have been doing so in order to try to leverage a Cabinet seat out of it. |

During the 2004 CPC convention in Montreal I sat next to a fellow from Alberta and we discussed Alberta politics and when Klein was gonna quit.
I told him that I was disappointed in Klein and that I had come around to the opinion that might actually have a bias in favour of the federal Liberals.
I asked him what he thought the chances of "that Morton guy was" and this fellow got the biggest grin I'd ever seen:
He happened to be Morton's cheif organizer at the time! :lol:
Really nice guy. I can't remember his name (Stan?) but he said he used to be the speaker of the Alberta legislature!
He told me that I made his day because he didn't think there were any "good conservatives like you" in Ontario! :lol: |

But the leader of the Alliance is encouraging his membership to buy PC memberships and to vote Morton. |

Yeah, they can. Morton and Dinning have both already had fundraiser dinners in Vancouver for their campaigns. |

Gotta love when an Albertan PC leadership candidate has a fundraising dinner in NDP/Liberal Fortress ontario..
Guess we'll know where he'll stand on selling alberta's oil to make the rest of the country rich, should the liberals come back into power federally(and i'm certain the west will be their whipping-boy if that happens) |
