A potent curse, indeed...

The Liberals are very dangerous now as they have nothing to lose which makes them desperate and careless.

Agreed. I think that so long as we Conservatives remain cautious and skeptical of all things Liberal (kinda goes without saying eh?), we should be fine while the self destruct around us.

I think if they lose another election then the wheels will really start to come off the wagon. I think one of the things holding them together is their belief that this is a temporary setback and that they should rightfully (in their minds) be back in power next election.

With this latest scandal, I'm hoping that the Conservatives don't self destruct. This one's going to hurt I think. At least in the short term. If the government lasts til 2009, it should be "old news" but will come up in debates...

Interesting how the Liberals find things to dig up at key times.

Schreiber: When Dion was getting pummeled by negative attack ads on his leadership and the media was all over it... and they were covering the "rift" in the Liberal party. Schreiber was a diversion...

Mini budget: Didn't they start fighting about Afghan detainees and "possible torture"?

Budget: Now THIS scandal to take the media off of the fact that the Liberals are sitting, abstaining or voting WITH the Conservatives... AND the Senate Liberals also abstained....

It's all about timing. I wonder what goodies (DIRT) the Conservatives are saving up? Surely they have SOMETHING dirty on the Libs? Saving it for DURING an election campaign?
