In reality this involves so few fake memberships that they're probably due to error than design.

I mean, Volpe isn't going to be taking over the leadership with his extra 9 supporters that he signed up contrary to the rules.

You have got to be kidding. You mean the dead people accidently signed the forms? I hope Volpe got the membership fees in cash since it'd be really hard to sue someone for bouncing a cheque if they're dead.

The fact that Volpe isn't being asked to step aside by the party for cheating doesn't concern you at all? Evidently not!!

Somebody probably did some funny stuff, but I doubt Volpe approved it because it was so small. The risk didn't make it worthwhile.

Secondly, its quite possible that these people could have died after becoming members.

FYI: I have a lot of first hand experience in campaign groundwars and I understand how these things happen.

Probably some young volunteer was promised a meeting with the great Don or something like that if he could meet his target goal for new memberships for that week. He was probably short that week, so got creative.

Look at the Tom Long campain for the CA in 2000. There were like 1800 dead people signed up. THATS how ya do it.

Yeah, just like Joe Volpe didn't know the donations from the children were actually from the parents or more accurately on behalf of the companies which the parents worked for.

I never mentioned the Apotex donations.

Looking at it logically, why risk your campaign over 9 fake memberships?

In all honesty, in light of the fine Volpe's been given, I'm begining to believe Volpe's claim that people in the party are out to get him. But if they are out to stop his leadership bid, can you really blame them?

Its kinda suspicious that Iggy got off scott free.
