Lets use that Chat/Shoutbox feature to discuss the Throne speech live.

PS. Looks like the speech starts at 4:30 in my time zone (CST). I am so glad Sask does not mess around with daylight saving time.

Why are they assessing the throne speech before the throne speech? How is that even possible?

Its the CBC they will find a way,
I am sure they will flood the panel with non-partisan analysts....

Question:

What type of tax cuts is PM Harper going to propose?

Answer:

No idea... but there's many interesting possibilities.

How about redirecting all road taxes back to the appropriate jurisdiction (ie: the provinces)? While it's not technically a cut, it would take money out of the federal coffers and put it directly into the provinces which would address concerns about infrastructure renewal.

How about income splitting for all levels, not just retirees?

How about pushing toward flat taxes?

How about cutting or eliminating the GST?

How about drawing up a proposed schedule for elimination of the national debt?

The possibilities are limited only by imagination and sound fiscal stewardship.
